  2. Hi Karol! Congrats! We're also getting married on the island! We're using Diane, she is soo helpful! when we spoke to the caterer they recommended the island boys...they said the djs aren't that great on the island...not many choices...good luck!
  3. Congrats! We're getting married on Turks & Caicos too! we chose it becasue of hte direct flights from JFK. most of our family si comign from either CT or Philly. They use to have direct flights form Philly..but they stopped that one. Good luck!
  4. I was wondering the same thing! I'm glad you raised teh question. After reading through all this I think I'm also going to do pictures before hand. I want to enjoy the coktail hour and reception.
  5. This is great information! Thank you. I have a question...how did you gals get these items to the destination? Did you ship them or pack them with you? did you have to pay a customs fees? Thank you!
  6. You looked gorgeous! Where did you get that second dress..I love it! oh and love the cake!
  7. Congrats! We 're getting married down there as well...it is ABSOLUTELY breathtaking! have fun planning!
  8. Hi Tigerlilli - things are good. we're just chugging along! we looked at Somerset, it's a beautiful hotel, it was out of hte price range for our guests, so we stuck with The Sands. We were also trying to keep our reception and hotel close to each other, coordinating transportation was kind of difficult and the taxis there are not regulated and they all charge different prices for the same trip. so we wanted all our events to be within walking distance. we also wanted to stay close to the Salt Mills shops, which has some good restaurants and an Irish bar that is open to 4am! (we have alot of guest who are single and in their early 30's) When we took the trip down, we wanted everything to be convenient for our guest. All your hotel choices are beautiful you can't go wrong! good luck! let me know if you have any other questions! have you found a dress yet? that's what i'm having problems with.
  9. hi tigerlilli...i just remembered Caicos Catering was also great to deal with. they are doing a brunch for us Sunday morning. They're setting it up in our suite, so guest can come by for a low key breakfast. i'm trying to plan a golf outing and a spa (manis and pedis). not having much luck. also if you get a chnace you should visit the island, i accomplished alot went i went down there.
  10. I'm sorry I was responding to an earlier thread. our guests are staying at The Sands. Jason who is the concierge guy there is very nice. he is settin gup the whole ceremony, which is ALOT cheaper than NILA or any of the other wedding planners. Just keep in mind if you have the recption at Grace Bay, they don't allow outside music.
  11. I would reccomend Bay Bistro. They have a small deck where you can have cocktails and they are willing to set up tents out side or tables outside for a reception. It's also a 2 min walk on the beach from The Sands. Is your ceremony going to be held at The Sands? Joan and Clive are doing our rehearsal dinner on the beach - bonfire and all. Good Luck.
