  1. Sorry, I don't have any advice regarding the veil as I haven't done this beach wedding thing before and have no friends or relatives that have done so either... But I do have a few questions for anyone who's been to the Paradisus - for their wedding, or visiting the resort before the big day. Unfortunately, I can't make a trip to the resort before my wedding, and I'm trying to get a feel for the atmosphere at some of the bars and restaurants at Paradisus. Can anyone tell me what the Lobby Bar is like? Is this the bar that plays live music every night? Is it a casual setting for guests to gather before going out to a more living setting, such as the Fun Pub or Disco, later in the night? I'm also hoping to get an idea of what the Fun Pub and Disco are like for nightly entertainment... Any advice, pictures, thoughts, etc would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! Steph
  2. Congrats on Your beautiful wedding!!! Now that you've experienced the Paradisus, I have a question for you (If you don't mind)... My fiance and I are going to be with our guests for 1 week before the wedding day - Then we're leaving the resort, early Sunday afternoon for our honeymoon. We want to have a goodbye brunch with our guests, but after all the money spent on the welcome party and wedding itself, we cannot afford to rent/reserve a restaurant and serve another meal for all our guests. Can you give me an idea of what restaurants offer a casual setting and good food so we can suggest our guests gather there for one last meal together.? Thanks in Advance for any advice you can offer me!! Stephanie from WI
  3. I'm getting married on February 28, 2009 in Riviera Maya, Mexico at the Paradisus Riviera Cancun Resort!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I'm sad to say I won't have the opportunity to see the Paradisus Resort until I arrive the week of our wedding... So my question to all the Paradisus Riviera Cancun Brides out there is, "What can you tell me about the atmosphere and activity at the bars and restaurants within the resort... things like night life, live music, theater shows, and where the roudy guests tend to come together at the end of the night! I'd like to develop an itinerary for our guests, such as: "On Monday evening, around 8pm, we'll be at the (?) bar to listen to live music over margaritas and more.."; "On Wednesday afternoon, we'll be eating lunch at the (?) restaurant for some authentic mexican dishes and deserts"; "All are welcome to join us at the (?) on Thursday night for a theater show and dancing"...etc, etc... Looking for any ideas or suggestions to keep our rambunctious Wisconsin guests entertained with fun, dancing, activities, live music, and of course plenty of drinks (We are from Wisconsin...we need plenty of beer and a little cheese to feel at home! LOL) Also hoping to find lots of fun ideas without spending a lot more $ when there is so much available to us at the Resort. Thanks in advace from anyone willing to offer some advise!!!
  5. Thank you all for your wonderful advice. You're absolutely right, it is rude to "take back" our invites for all our friends when it is just one who has caused our dilema. We've talked to that "friend" and hope things will smooth over, but made it clear that if things do not change and she is not supportive of us and our marriage, we don't think it's right she be there to celebrate it. We appreciate your quick replies and are very happy we've choosen not to change all our plans for one person! Sincerely, Relieved Bride from Wisconsin
  6. My fiance and I have been planning our wedding for the Riviera Maya Mexico for 5 months now and last night I had a major breakdown! To make a Very Long story short, we had a falling out with an old friend, which brought us to thinking.. "Why didn't we just invite family?!!" The more my fiance and I talked, through my many tears, we decided that wouldn't be a bad idea, except we've already sent out Save The Date Cards to all our friends and family. We'd love to send out a new card stating "We're Running Off and Getting Married!" ( In 3 months and only inviting family to join) - But how do we kindly "uninvite" all the other guests? We're asking for any suggestions, tips, advice you may have... please send them soon! Tearful Bride from Wisconsin
  7. I'm new to the forum, and just booked 02/28/09 at the Paradisus! I hope to get some pictures and fun facts on my profile, as well as start a wedding webpage, soon! For now, I just wanted to say hello and I'm so excited to join a forum with other Paradisus Brides!! Steph

  9. Hello to all the destination brides out there! My name is Stephanie and I found this destination wedding forum in hopes of getting suggestions for finding the perfect Resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico for a March 2009 Wedding! Initially, my finance and I had our hearts set on the El Dorado Royale, but as we began budgeting the dinner after our wedding ceremony, the reception on the beach, photographer, wedding cake, etc. It started to become just as expensive as a wedding in our home town! We are still leaving El Dorado Royale on the table, but are trying to research other resorts before making our final decision.. We've found this to be difficult with the contradicting opinions of family, friends, and internet blogs. Our travel agent also seems partial to particular resorts that don't appear to be all that great by looking at the pictures on their website (The Iberostar Resorts) - So any tips, hints, or advice from brides out there, we would much appreciate any input you have! Thank you in advance... I hope to hear from you soon!! Steph (The Bride)
