  1. If you are using an outside photog who is not staying over on the resort then you HAVE to pay for the day pass...I had Vanessa Vargas as our photographer and she brought an assistant so we had to pay for both...180$ US. total
  2. IM1984...Dinner starts at the Gran Tortuga with a small appetizer (varies everytime, and you won't know what it is until you are there)...then there is a huge and delicious side dish buffet which has much better options than the actual buffets. Then all the servers bring out the different meats which are all on huge skewers that they cut off for you onto your plate. There must have been 10 different meats that they brought out...there was something for everyone and it was unique and everyone loved the experience. Our guests kept saying, "we wish we didn't get so much food from the buffet at the beginning" because they wanted to keep eating the meats. you can do your cake cutting at the restaurant or do it at the reception after.
  3. You have to do a bit off running around to get the birth certificate stuff done...but it was well worth it for us. You can order your long form bc online and it comes in the mail. Then we took it to a translation service in our area (just looked one up online)...make sure you pay the money to have the translation notarized by a lawyer by the same translation company. Then you need to take the translated certificate to a mexican embassy and they will take care of the rest. I looked up where all the embassy's are in Canada online...If there is not one near you than call one and i think you can mail it in. Hope this helps!!!
  4. Hey ladies....Just got back from the honeymoon and wanted to let everyone know that the big day went perfectly....Jazmin did not forget a single detail...I'm going to try and anwser a couple recent questions on here...We had our dinner in the Gran Tortuga and the food was AMAZING. Everyone loved it! We had 58 ppl down with us and had a table of 11 two tables of 10, 9 and two of 8. Or something to that effect, they had no problem accomodating the odd numbers. Both my husband and I had never been married before and we had the "official" legal ceremony. We were required to bring our passports and the passports of four witnesses with tourists cards. I was also required to bring my long form birth certificate translated into spanish and stamped by the Mexican embassy. That document was given right to the judge. My fiance was NOT required to submit his (not sure why, but we brought his down anyways just in case). As for all the a la cartes at the different resorts. All our guests ate/used the facilities all the different restaurants at each resorts with no questions or issues. Our wedding dinner DID count as one of the a la carte dinners out of the three that you get for the week for all our guests. They are pretty strict on this one, as a couple people in the group tried to argue that the wedding dinner shouldn't count but they got shut down pretty fast....I will post a full review and pics as soon as I unpack my suitcase...
  5. I think I need a hair manager too.....GOOD IDEA....
  6. I got ZOOM whitening done yesterday, which worked miracles....my teeth went three-4 shades whiter...it hurt a bit though...but was worth it!
  7. I'm finding that i am doing ALL the running around, which is kind of driving me mad as there are soooo many loose ends to tie up....Also the FI has this tiny problem where he springs info on people because he doesn't like confrontation...for example...My FI's cousin just moved in with us because his wife walked out on him (he is the SWEETEST guy...feel so bad for him)....and he accidently told him that he could ride down to the airport with us....Well my mom and stepdad are staying at our place the night before and the four of us somehow are going to have to cram our asses into my suv and get down to the airport...we don't have room for a 5th person....FI STILL hasn't broke the news to him.....I am super excited that we are leaving in a week, but i'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad bit anxious.....
  8. I have one guest coming who is a friend of ours and he is bringing buddy that we don't know...both of them will be coming to the wedding as i don't expect the buddy to wonder the resort alone on the day of the wedding...On the other hand, my dad and step mom are bringing another couple with them that we have never met, and that couple is NOT coming to the wedding...our friends are also bringing another couple with them who will not be coming to the wedding. I will gladly pay for a guest who is a companion of someone that we want to be at the wedding....but I'm not paying for ramdom couples that I have never met, who can take care of themselves for a night....We want the wedding to be as intimate as possible...
  9. I need to make a couple pounds disappear in a week....It's crunch time...any thoughts??
  10. I am having Joshua Radin-Rather be with you and Ray Lamontagne- you are the best thing....both really nice lyrics with a fun beat to them!
  11. My last Christmas dinner is tommorow....I will be disciplined, I will be disciplined......NO MORE CHOCOLATE!
  12. There is a thread about this exact thing...it is quite the process...if you do a search you will find it, I think it's Canadian Brides getting married in mexico legal requirements...if you can't find it i will PM you what we had to do to get everything done...
  13. I am mega stressed about this too...I have done so well the last few months but these past few weeks i have gained back 5 pounds with three weeks till we leave, I'm a bit discouraged....I need to regroup, but there is always pressure to take a cookie or chocolate or have seconds or another glass of wine...YIKES...I need to say NO...
  14. We also use Doggie Daycare when our pooch is going to be home alone for a long time. It's 3$ an hour. He LOVES it!
