I went to a wedding once where they had a cocktail hour while pictures were getting taken and then about an hour into they switched over to just beer and wine. Nobody knew that there was a cutoff so when the bartender said that he just had beer/wine after that, everyone was ok with it. You could try something like that and just bring a small amount of the punch. Once its gone, beer and wine.

I too am getting married at Dreams next year. I went there last year with my fiance and it was amazing. We compared Dreams with the other resorts down there and we found it to be the best deal and one of the nicer places. Even if it is on the high end for your guests, remind them that there are great restaurants at the hotel and everything is included. We ate at a different restaurant every night and had fantastic meals. That alone saved us a ton. I think we went to town for a total of 1 hour because everything we had was at the hotel. The pools were pretty nice too. There is one that is a main pool that is a little more of a scene. We hung out at one on the side of the hotel that was a little more chill. The best was getting chips and guac with margaritas by the pool. Let me know if you need more feedback on Dreams.
