  1. We didn't tell our guests a single thing about the wedding at LC - not about the boat ride, or anything until they were leaving the resort on the bus for the marina! I'm not sure if any of them weren't prepared for the boat ride, but we did tell them to bring a sweater, and that they would be gone all afternoon/evening - and we did supply gravol, etc...not sure if they were under prepared for the boat ride, etc or not ... looking back, we perhaps, maybe should have told them about the boat, but then again..that was the most fun and one of the most memorable things for us - keeping the secret from everyone! 2. I haven't found anything current - but I did have a bride get married there last winter, and they said the wedding was fabulous...my best friend is getting married at the Marival on January 21st - and we're staying there for a week Jan 16 - 23 - so I will have lots of info and a full review when I get back! Lindsay
  3. Jaime - congratulations! The teaser pics are beautiful - I can't wait to see the rest!!!! I'm so jealous the parrot flew your rings in...that's too cool. I told my DH that we have to get married all over again so we can have the parrot! Lindsay
  4. Wow, I've been MIA for a little while - Congrats JamieLynn on your wedding, I can't believe it has come and gone already! I hope it was everything you dreamt it would be! I can't wait to see the photos! Congratulations also to all of the upcoming LC brides - can't wait to see the pics and read the reviews - I miss Las Caletas so much! Lindsay
  5. Welcome to the forum! We honeymooned at the Golden Crown Paradise - and loved it!! We will be there around the same time (we will be staying at GCP the last week of January 2010 after my friend's wedding) - so I think we will just miss you! Congratulations and happy planning!!! If you need any info, just ask!! Lindsay

LOL Lindsay
  7. Ah - you beat me to it...I was just going to come and post this info... I hope there aren't too many brides that will be affected by this...call your TA immediately if you are booked with Conquest! Lindsay
  8. Hey LC Ladies!!! I've been MIA for some time...been crazy busy...but just wanted to pop in here and say a quick hello and a congratulations to all of recent LC Brides...and it looks like there are lots of upcoming weddings too...Jaime - I can't believe how quickly your wedding is approaching - I'm so excited for you! I also wanted to answer your question re: tipping the minister...we did not tip our minister (we didn't have Brad, we had another lady), but she left very shortly after our ceremony, and we didn't see her - we were very busy taking photos before the sunset, etc....and then she was gone! So I wouldn't worry too much about it. We did tip Nicole about $100 though... Looking forward to hearing all about the upcoming weddings! I miss you ladies, I need to come on here more often! Lindsay
  9. Welcome to the Forum!!! Dreams Villamagna looks spectacular! I was married in PV in 2007...be sure to ask if you have any questions - you will find tons of help here!!!! Lindsay

  11. I'd go somewhere that is Adults Only for sure...I love the looks of the El Dorado Royale Infinity pool casita suites...they are amazing! Others on my must see list include: Valentin Imperial Maya, Sensatori Azul, Excellence Riviera Cancun, any of the Secrets resorts, Riu Palace, etc, etc (that's just in Cancun/M.R.)!!!! Lindsay
  12. Heather...I feel your pain! Heck - I've been married for 2 years now, and I'm still in the 'post wedding' blues!!! We had the most fantastic 3-week wedding trip/honeymoon 2 years ago, and ever since I've still felt somewhat 'empty' and I'm always looking for another project! I think this is the main reason I'm still here on BDW - I can share everyone else's experiences! I'm lucky because my best friends have decided to get married in Mexico next January, and she is not a planner, so she has recruited me to help with her wedding plans! I totally want to start a wedding business of some sort! Maybe we should do that together!?! we do live in the same city after all! Your wedding photos (the few that I've seen) look gorgeous and I'm glad you had a great time...I'm sorry you didn't get as much alone time on your honeymooon week as you would have liked...but you can definitely plan for your next trip! If you want to chat, pm or email me any time! Lindsay
  13. Hi Ladies! You are correct...you are allowed a total of 2 bags, with a total weight of 44lbs In addition, you are allowed a carry on, plus you may also carry your dress in a garment bag (in addition to your carry on). There aren't any closets on skyservice aircraft, so you will have to put it in an overhead bin...if you gently fold it in half and place it on top of the bags, it should be fine...no problem with your dress at all! Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions! Lindsay
  14. DH and I are not going to start officially 'trying' until January next year...we've had some student loan debts and stuff to pay off, and we are thinking we'll be ready next January...that will be 3 years after we got married... Lindsay
  15. Thanks for the info Tammy - I think I'm going to try that this year! We've still got a good 3 months before I can plant anything outside and not have to worry about it freezing - heck - we still have 3 feet of snow on the ground, so it's going to be awhile, but I'm excited to start planning our garden pretty soon! ANyone have any good ways to reduce the weeds in my flower bed? It was neglected by my MIL for a lot of years and by the end of the summer, it's completely overrun....I'd like to dig it all up and start over, but there's a lot of nice mature perennials in the beds that I'd like to keep! I'd welcome any suggestions! Can't wait for spring now!!!! Lindsay
