We did the pure elegance package that was $2000.00 that included the cocktail reception I did add on flowers and had my dress steamed. My total was 2200.00. We got married at 4:30pm and had dinner reservation at 6:00pm which was too early if you do the cocktail reception. We felt really rushed to get to our reservation. After dinner we had cocktails at one of the bars and then went to the north bar were they had a band playing and we did some dancing and everyone had a great time. Here is a link to some pictures let me know if you can't open it.

  • 4 weeks later...

I am booked to get married in SJG on December 12, 2008. I have been contacting Patrica frequently to figure out the price costs for everything.

From my understanding, if you book a sit-down reception (which you need a minimum of 25 people) then you do not have to pay extra per person for the ceremony. I hope this helps.. did any opt to not have a sit-down reception.

I wanted to just book a reservation at one of the restaurants but my fiancee and I want to have the whole first-dance, etc. so we are opting for the private sit-down reception and renting a DJ.

jnowlan - Your pictures are AWESOME! are those from the photographer at the resort? we're actually paying someone to fly out there to have the resort. question - how much extra did you have to pay for the 2 tiered cake rather then the 1 tiered that comes with the package?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
