Any suggestions good (cheap) stuff to put in the welcome bag?

Recommended Posts

I can't think of anything except sunscreen and chap stick!

Anyone got any creative Ideas?

Also, how should I give them out?

Can the maids put them in the rooms?

Will the front desk give them out?

Will Chandyn handle it (probalbly not from what I read in the forum, lol)?

Everyones arriving on different days so I'm not sure how to handle it. I just don't want to be in charge of it!shots.gif

As far as cheap stuff ... I am adding 2008 pocket calendars from Oriental Trading (flip flop covers) and AVON flip flop/hibiscuc emery boards (less than $0.50 each). We are makinmemade starfish and flip-flop soaps from candy molds ... and individual packets of Imodium, Advil, Pepto, sunscreen,wet-naps, etc.

We are having informal cocktail receptions each night, just at the lobby bar, and handing them out to the new arrivals that way.

Many of us made postcards through vista print. You can get 100 for about $10 with the specials. Try this link www.vistaprint.com/minicatalog

We got a high resolution image from someone else on the forum to use for the picture. I have a post in the DIY forum called "making a vista print postcard" with the details.

There are also some spanish to english phrase lists on the forum. I plan on printing them on cute paper & putting them in the OOT bags.

Often the front desk will hand out your OOT bags, but there is usually a fee.

I am giving out my travel mugs at the welcome dinner we're having the day before the wedding. If you are having a get together like this before the wedding you could give them out then?

I bought some inexpensive beach tote bags from Garden Ridge (I think they were $1.50 each) and I'm putting a photo album, chrome luggage tag with Jamaica 2008 engraved on it, sunscreen, personalized lip balm, and maybe a paper fan or paper parasol umbrella in each one. Then just for the women, I'm putting in a spa set that has a loofa sponge, wooden hair brush/mirror set, and few other items. I wanted to do customized beach towels, but getting them there is beginning to seem impossible!

I just posted my list somewhere, so you should do an advanced search for it to see prices... but I have:

Travel Mugs, playing cards, suntan lotion, lip balm with 15 SPF, gum, shout wipes, gold bond, first aid kits, OFF wipes, Spanish phrases book, candy bracelets, imodium AD, tylenol, carabeners, beach balls, and beach buckets.

I picked up travel size sunscreen at Walmart..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
