Website to find a BM dress for less?

Recommended Posts

I will be wearing Bill Levkoff dress style #874 in my brother's wedding. I found the dress for $135 on houseofbrides.com. My FSIL told me this was $100 less than the bridal salon had it priced at. I have some time to shop around so I wondered if it was possible to find it for even less. The search function isn't working on the forum (I couldn't even get advanced to work) so I can find a previous post about houseofbrides. Anyone have a good experience with them?

As many of you know, I will be a bridesmaid for the 8th & 9th time this year. So I really like to find ways to save money on bridesmaid dresses. I don't have 27 of them, but I have a lot. So I plan on scouring the internet for a great deal. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them.

Here is the dress. I don't know how it will look on me, but I think I'll like it.Click the image to open in full size.

My BM's got their dresses through 2008 Prom Dresses - Wedding Dresses - Bridemaids - Mother of the Bride Gowns.

It was less expensive than any of the other online bridal stores I checked (and I checked a lot) AND it was free shipping for each BM (a lot of the others only provided free shipping if it was a bulk order and everything was delivered to one address.

Also -- my BM's got an additional 10% off b/c I registered with the site but didn't purchase during my visit -- and they emailed me a coupon code that worked for everyone.

So, I say browse and see if they have what you need, register, and then wait a day or two. I suspect you will get an email coupon code (b/c it said something like "we noticed you visited our site but didn't make a purchase, blah blah, here's a coupon code good for 10% off..."

Yeah, the free shipping is huge -- and it's the only dress site for BM's I've found that offers it on single dress orders.

Good Luck!

All my BM's got their dresses in less time than quoted (a few weeks early for everyone) and are very happy with the results!

Is the coupon code just a number? Do you mine sending me the one they used?

I got a thank you for registering email, but no 10% off.

The code isn't good anymore (well, it says expired, but you can try it), but here is the email.

I think the discount code email came the next day.

Thanks! I used code INC1312008 & it took of 10%! I saw that the code matched the expiration date, so I just changed the code.

House of brides shipping is $30, so this website is the best deal. I'll let the bride know. I'm still going to do more hunting to see if a better deal is possible.

  • 2 weeks later...

The dress was $130 from gownfind.com. But, I think I'd rather pay $137 & order through TJ formal, because I know they did a good job with your dresses. I'm a little nevous to order from a company that no one I know used.

I tried on dresses like it (they didn't have this style). They looked great, so I'm excited to get this on in the mail!

Thanks Tami!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
