Question for you barefoot brides on the beach...

Recommended Posts

I'm wearing low top slip on Converse with the dress for my at home wedding, and no shoes for my Hawaii wedding, so I am going to have it altered with bare feet. I don't mind if the Converse show a little since they are the same shade of ivory as my dress, and also I don't want my dress to be too long on the beach. Plus the syle of my dress is poofy at the bottom so I don't really think they will show anyways.

LOL...You're not crazy. I didn't really want to be totally barefoot either,smile27.gif more like some cute low sandals that will work on sand. But really, what shoe works in the sand? And I sooo do not like wedges. I've never ever had a pair. Don't ask me why. So my search for the right shoe will continue.

Have you thought about the ballerina shoes. My MOH wants to decorate them. I could wear them after the beach ceremony as well.

Just a thought

Thats a thought! The only problem is I think I need something with a little height, especially since I'm on the short side anyway.

I'm having my dress altered for my height while barefoot. i have some flip flops that i may wear during the reception, but even so, the flip flops are less than an inch thick.

my sales lady was totally cool with the no shoes thing - i was kinda blown away! she was like "no shoes! that's perfect!"

I had my dress altered for in between flats and heels. I figured no matter what length you have it for on the beach, you are going to sink in the sand so a little too long makes no difference. I wanted people to see my heels so a little short was good for that!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
