Riviera Maya bride...I think...

Wherw. What a relief to find loads of folks in the same boat...

So I have NO interest in a 200person plus extravaganza in NYC, and after months of waffling about location I think we've settled on Riviera Maya area for our wedding... thinking perhaps 75-100 ppl will come? The boy has lots of family that have been waiting for this for a while. Riviera Maya's easy to get to from west and east coasts, so think that's the decision.

And looking for June if possible (although ack! the heat!), and locations that will take kids. But the popular places (Dreams Tulum, for one) don't have Saturdays left... sigh. I hope I'm not too late! Looking at the new Riviera Maya Princess, esp. since price should be reasonable, but have no idea how the wedding coordinators wil be - and apparently they're booked on all Saturdays in June too?!? Might go down this weekend or next - any other places I should check out? Looks like the Barcelo Maya group of resorts and Moon Palace are popular too...

I'm determined to get this done, finally, with your help! Thanks for the treasure trove of posts I've seen, and thanks in advance for any advice you have for a slightly stressed out bride-to-be...

Best,

Although you may be running into challenges in finding a hotel that has a day available in June, many brides choose to have their wedding on a secluded beach in or around Playa del Carmen. Although, in most cases, hotels will only offer their wedding coordination services if you have your wedding at the hotel, there are a number of wedding coordination companies in the area who can help you plan a secluded beach wedding. Also, since you are planning a destination wedding, many clients choose to have their wedding day during the week as many of their guests see a destination wedding as an opportunity to combine attending the wedding with a week's vacation as well. Good luck and congratulations!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
