First of all.. I think most of us saw "better" dresses while waiting for our dresses to come in. (Not me because I bought a sample on ebay) but seriously they want a bride to wait MONTHS for a dress they love but can't try on again, but they can see other brides excited about their dresses in!! Do you have pictures of you in your dress.. It really took me looking at me in those first pics to remember how happy I was in my dress... don't second guess your feelings of love..

I guess it depends on your budget. I budgeted so low.. I had no idea dresses cost so much. It would have never fit for me to have two dresses.. besides the night went so fast I barely took one bathroom break.. let alone time to change!! Seriously ONE pee break and I was a happy camper.. never thought about getting out of my dress for a second.. in fact, 7am the next morning I got back into it for my TTD.. I know you aren't happy about not getting it, but could it be the manufacturer and not the dress shop? I remember them saying 4-6 months for the Casablancas and Maggie Sotteros..

I think Christine is so right... they broke their end of the contract, so you should be able to cancel. Buy the second dress and get away from the sketch shop. No need to stress. That is awesome that they would offer you a sample they just got! Sounds like it was meant to be!

What's the shop going to do if you just never pick up your dress??

I am assuming you still owe at least part of the money for the dress, I know I only paid half up front. So you could fight them for a refund because your wedding is coming up soon and you need your dress, but if they said no, then you're only out half the money and you could just not pick it up. I know that probably sounds horrible, but if you don't want to have to spend more money on it this would solve the problem

Sadly, I did take pictures of me in the dress... and I hate them. I think I look awful. I think that's part of the problem here is that I have those photos on my mind where I think I look like crap and then it's not coming in, it's just making me feel horrible about this stupid dress. I HATE WEDDINGS!

This shop has very strict guidelines. If I don't pay the balance of my dress and pick it up they charge you $10 a month. Lovely.

I'm just so confused. I don't know what to do and now I'm losing sleep over it. This is stupid.

IMO I would call and start telling them that either..

A, They deliver the dress in one week or else you will consider it as a void on the contract since they had told you 12-16 week

B. They must "give" you an sample dress of your choice since your dress isn't in

C. They can just void the contract and give you all your money back.

I agree with all of Tammy's choices.

Trisha - it isn't right that youa re this upset about it. Maybe have your mom call or something that isn't as upset by it but will stand their ground. I know when I am upset, I get too emotional and then can't carry on a conversation and stand my ground. So maybe some assitance is needed. You want one of us to call that damn store?! Buggers.

Hey, just for fun I thought I'd update this thread.

So, today is the day they had said I'd get my dress on after my father threatened to demand our money back.

SO, we call them... DISCONNECTED!!! yup, that's right. The phone has been disconnected. Lovely.

Sadly, it might be too late for my second dress choice too!

This is NOT sitting well in my stomach!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
