Outer envelope return address?

You'd think after being invited to 25 weddings I'd have kept one of the envelopes they came in....

 

Does anyone know what the etiquette is for the outer envelope in terms of do I need to include a return address in the top left corner or do most people put pre-printed stickers on the back? Or not at all? I figure you'd have to put it somewhere in case the invitation is not deliverable....

Mine came with the address printed on the back flap. I can't recall where other invitations I've received had it...sorry!

Etiquette is that the address is print on the back flap.

I got an embosser with our address on it and "stamped" it on the back flap for our STDs. Our invites had it printed on the back flap.

They often have it printed already on the back. I made lables that match my invitations to stick on the back flap. It may not be perfect etiquette to use a lable, but I think our guests will like them. They have a beach picture on them.

I went off etiquette. I printed labels with a seashell. The label was clear and the font looked super pretty. I used the seashell on the address being sent. Then I used a smaller label for the return address on the back flap.

I printed our return address on a clear label with cute font and placed them on the back flap.

Well, I used the more informal Boarding Pass Invites and had return address labels with our logo on them made from Vista Print. We also used a bright orange envelope (so not very formal wedding at all) and put the return address sticker on the front left corner.

 

I think it depends on how formal or informal your invites are going to be.

 

Everyone loved the casual feel to ours.
