The subtotal was $119.20 minus $11.20 plus $18.99 in shipping. Total came to 126.99. My stepbrother has a silkscreening business that he just started. He said he hasn't seen anything cheaper for that size online and that it is a good price for that size. He said he would do our silkscreening for really cheap but we told him to charge what he would charge. I don't want to save money at his expense, he has been struggling for a long time. So, he said $1 per bag.

We figure we will give one bag per person but maybe just roll up the second bag and put it in the other tote with the OOT stuff (one mug per person, maraca pen per couple, flipflop playing cards per couple, disp underwater camera per couple, first aid bag per couple, and one spanish translation sheet per couple...I am still looking for some sort of crazy straw per person). I didn't want to have to double the cost of the OOT bags by making one per person and having to buy more to make it look fuller. Will it be tacky to roll the second bag up and include with the other stuff? We are trying to save money where we can since the AHR is going to cost us plenty (220 guests probably will attend).

I'll post pics once the bags come in.

OTC has some straws with sombreros and some with chillies and some with flowers or umbrellas. Target also has some in their clearance Isle and I think they were part of the luau collection.

Thanks! That is what I was thinking based on the pictures from their website but just wanted to check. :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Just wanted to add that I ended up ordering the gusset bags from cheaptotes and really like them. None of them really met my colors - so I ordered a variety and they are all bright and fun (except the burgandy which was a little dark for my liking - but my mom wanted).

The only 2 things I wanted to add from previous posts are that the straps are sort of short. I can wear it over my shoulder, but my parents and FI had difficulty with it. Also, the bottom on this bag is nice and allows the bags to stand up on their own but it is still the gusset material so it is not overly strong.

They are nice and big though. The second picture is with a normal bottle or water. Easily fits a couple rolled up beach towels and what not.

Shipping was quick and the coupon code cheaptotes still worked for 10% off.

What an awesome thread! Such great ideas! I was checking out the Heavy Duty Canvas Tote, 12 oz, and really liked the look of that. For $2.89, it looks pretty sturdy. And since we're not planning on having any more than 30-40 people at our wedding spending a little more shouldn't totally deplete us! The other one I really liked was the Canvas Teachers Tote for $4.99... that one will break the bank considering the potential cost of the things to put IN the bag! LOL

FI wants something that's not too girly (meaning not a tote). So we found these drawstring backpacks - they aren't super cheap (about $2 each). I need to call cheap totes and see if they can do any better.

Has anyone used these? I think they are more likely to be used by the guys, and certainly the kids will like them. I'd just like to see if anyone has tried them out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
