My FI isn't really flipping out yet, but he doesn't understand why we need to do all this stuff. "Why not just say 'Thanks for coming down with us for our wedding' or something". I think those were his exact words. That is also why I leave a bunch of stuff at my Mom's, so he doesn't have to see it all. My Mom is also paying for some of it, so I have told him that, and it makes it a little bit better, but he still doesn't understand it.

Oh no, I forgot to update this post. I tested the cups in the dishwasher & they were fine. What I didn't check was putting a cold drink in them. The paint would come off when they got cold. I have no idea why. It wasn't a big deal. I still used mine all the time & saw other people using them. The names were still intact, but if you touched it while it was wet some of the paint would smudge on your hands. it washed off easy.

The rub ons were perfect. So I guess a good alternative would be to just do rub-ons.

Also, I think just giving people big cups would be convenient. The cups were so tiny at our resort. I loved having a big cup to fill with diet coke at meals instead of having to keep refilling. I also got a huge margarita made in mine a few times.

I also wanted to do the DIY mugs, but it was just a nightmare! The paints kept rubbing off my sample mug and washed off in the water. I even used an etching product for stainless steel, but it was so messy.

I ended up ordering my stainless steel travel mugs from discountmugs.com If you join their mailing list they'll send you coupons for 10-25% off the regular price of the mugs. If you live in the US, you can often get free shipping too.

I should get mine next week in the mail, I can hardly wait! When I get them in, I'll post pics for you to see.

:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
