Free Riu Wedding

Hi All!

Has anyone used the Free Wedding package offered by Riu. We are having our wedding at ROR next Jan and we plan on using the package. Any advice? Is it better to upgrade to a bigger package? any other suggestions? We plan on taking a small group(about 25 people). We want something simple and elegant. I always believe the more elaborate the plan, the more can go wrong! The free package seems simple and easy but is it cheap and tacky? Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day

Mel

I am just going with the free package as well, but will upgrade certain things.. for example, I am not a huge fan of the "Free" decoration of the beach gazebo so I will be upgrading the decorations, possibly getting an aisle runner and floral aisle markers. I MAY upgrade the flower bouquet, but I dont mind the free one... so we'll see! It's pretty much customizable to whatever you'd like so I think the free package is good unless you really love what the other packages have to offer! :)

thanks for the advice. very helpful! I was wondering though, how do you know what the "free " decorations look like? Is there a website to see how things will look and what the decorations and bouquets are? I would like to see if these are areas I would like to upgrade as well.

ps. Know of any good "beach-appropriate" wedding gown websites?

I just bumped a thread called "Flowers, Photographer Riu OR" that has SO many great photos and so much info for all the new ROR brides, it has pics of the upgrades available and the basic decorations.

This is a pic of the BASIC "free" decoration of the beach gazebo.

I am going to go with something more similar to this one: cheesy.gif

You can email Chandlyn as well and she will send you pics of the basic decorations and a few of the upgrades and costs.

As for beach appropriate wedding gowns, mine is by Venus Bridal, which has quite a few good beachy options, especially in their Pallas Athena and Informals lines - Venus Bridals.

However, check out the thread in the general "Wedding Attire & Rings" section for "Show us Your Wedding Dress"

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
