Roatan, Honduras?

Recommended Posts

Thank you! I looked at your site, it is so pretty :) Palmetto was one that I had looked at as well as Anthony's Key. I wish the Honduras resorts had the DR/Mex AI options. Seems like Honduras resorts have some sort of hybrid that doesn't really take away the need to budget while at the resort.

I am excited to read reviews about Roatan as it was recommended as a beautiful place to get married by a Honduran I met. I am already married but eager for our next big trip!

We're spending most of January in Honduras. I hear such good things about Roatan. THe folks I was with in Guatemala this year are now in Utila, another great dive spot I heard. We just got certified and wanted to go somewhere to dive inexpensively. Found some inexpensive villas/apartments on Roatan. SO excited to spend a few weeks there!!

our family has been visiting roatan for 2 decades - way before it ever became "developed" (quotations on purpose here). it's a fantastic place, absolutely gorgeous. but you have to open to different experiences. if you like nassau or the bahamas, this is not going to be the place for you. roatan is untouched, gorgeous, still has culture and there's beauty in how natural it is. now, there are now fantastic homes and villas that have been built for rent, that will give you the modern/western conveniences. but as a whole, the island is still mosty true to itself.

you will LOVE it, as long as you're not expecting the cheese-factor you might get from other islands. let me know if you have any specific questions - i'm happy to help in any way i can (and have friends down there that can show you around)!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
