Okay so I get this call today about my dress. They say that they just got word from the designer that it's being discontinued! I knew something would come up and I knew I should question why one visit they couldn't find it for me to try on again and why it was cheaper than most of the dresses there, etc....

Anyway, they say that the designer isn't cutting anymore of those but that they have a size 12 in stock. Now when I ordered it last week, they measured me at a size 12 and I requested a size 10. So that is why they called to tell me to see if it was okay that they order that one instead.

My only concern was alterations. I know everyone says they are going to loose weight, but I AM!!! I am on a strict diet and exercise regime and I hope and really think I will end up in a size 8 or even if lucky a 6 (maybe a little unrealistic). I wasn't sure how many sizes they can alter down? So they told me 4 sizes and so I told them to go ahead and order it.

I hope there are no other issues and that I made the right decision? I mean, I was already late w/ the ordering and thought I would have to do it rush...turns out that since they have it already cut, they will ship it w/in 2 days and it should be here w/in two weeks!!!!! Plus I don't want to have to try on more dresses! I'm over it!

A part of me feels, wow, this turned out pretty good...the other part of me can't help but feel, god I hope this isn't just the beginning of many more issues w/ this dress and then I end up with the wrong one or whatever! UGH!!!!

oh that's a good idea....I think when it comes in...I will ask about that and try and get any deal i can. They kinda told me that based on my measurements I would have to have it taken in anyway because my hips are much wider than my top blah, blah...I didn't even put in the original post...they said the alterations would run $300+

But that is a good point. Thanks!

Great idea, Tami! Michelle, they should definitely pay for at least some of the alterations. If you lose a lot of weight, 4 sizes is going to be a lot of alterations.

Uhhh,,,I would think that they should have told you that prior to you ordering. Then in that case, they would have just offered you the sample in the store.
But, maybe they really don't know until the designer contacts them.

yeah michelle, i think you should call them back and tell them youre concerned about alterations costing a lot since you ordered a dress larger than you need, see if you can get that squared away upfront so you dont get charged a bunch later. ps $300 for alterations, seriouslyhuh.gif??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
