Anyone Marry at Royal Caribbean?

Recommended Posts

Hey girls,

I posted this is the Sandals forum but someone said I should try here also! So help me out!! feedback.gif

I'm getting married in 7 weeks at the Sandals Royal Caribbean in Mobay and was wondering if anyone else was married there?

I have a few questions and am not sure where to turn. I like being organized and know what is going on 100% of the time and this is driving me nuts!

Did you do the private dinner? (That costs and I don't understand WHY when its an all inclusive resort.)

I'd like to send an itinerary for the wedding day, but how can I don that when I don't know what to do about the dinner?

Did you just make reservations for your party to eat at and hope you all sat together? (its only 12 people)

And how did the wedding reception flow? like get married on beach and immediatly move to garden recption or what?

Thanks ahead of time!

Hi, I am getting married at Sandals and I think that regardless of the location, the details are the same so I am happy to share the information I have with you to help you firm up your decision. Feel free to PM me anytime.

I finally decided to have my reception offsite because I found that SGOR wasn't very accomodating to my needs. I had no problem paying extra for the reception, but if I'm going to pay $50 a person for a sit-down reception, I want it to last longer than 2 hours and I wanted more flexibility with the menu. (There is just one set menu that is not customizable.) I didn't want to spend the $50 on a menu I hated, so I considered doing the buffet reception with hot and cold h'ors for $25 pp, but then the reception would only last an hour! To extend the reception to 2 hors increased the price to $50 pp!

Needless to say, I'm having my reception at Evitas restaurant in downtown Ocho Rios for $45 pp with a better food selection, custom drinks made just for FI and MI, a reggae band and the party will last 3 hours!

Good luck with your decisions. I'm happy to send you the price sheets, menu lists, etc. for Sandals receptions though.

Hey,

Thanks for your answers. I spoke to a Sandals wedding cordinator and had her send me price sheets and such. We are setting up the quick 1 hour reception in the garden for $25pp. She said my butler would have no problem setting up a dinner reservation for 12pp. So hopefully it works, if not they can have a reception and I can just say it was planned that way! haha

Its not to formal since there are only 12 of us but nice and small.

Thanks again! Congrats and good luck with your wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
