Hello! I'm new here and decided to register because I saw a post from someone who was asking about weddings at Riu in Playa. The concerns she wrote about are exactly what I have been stressing about as well...

I have just started planning my destination wedding in Playa del Carmen. Actually, I haven't started yet because I can't decide on a hotel. Anyway, that's why I'm here! It's nice to know there are so many out there with the same concerns and so many out there who have already been through it and are willing to give advice!

Hello and welcome,

Yes there is a ton of helpfull brides on this forum. Under the Riviera Maya/Cancun threads you will find Accomadations. There are so many great resorts in this area to choose from. Tell us a little bit more about what is important to you in your resort and we can probably help you narrow it down a bit more.

Thanks, everyone!

To answer your questions, I'm thinking of a wedding in November of 2007 in PDC. I've spent hours researching hotels and can't decide. It's so hard finding a hotel that is affordable for your guests but still gorgeous enough to have a wedding there. Hmmm...

I would like to have about 50 guests and want a place that is romantic but also fun. My friends and I like to party! So a place that could also host a reception would be nice...

Does anyone have any advice?

you know...riu might be a great choice for you! you can have your wedding at palace riviera maya...it is the most expensive of the riu's there but if you have friends that can't afford it, they can do playacar or yucatan...riu's are a fun choice but the palace is nice enough for your older guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
