Question for all of you dreams brides

Recommended Posts

We just decided to stay the 7 nights...have a free wedding and add a reception at $25pp. We are bringing most of the decoration, so no extra expense will be added with that. And I will most likely upgrade the bouquet since they only have 3 basic options...so that will be extra...and renting the sounds system for $160...but that is all we really need.

We are having 20 people including us. It is a four course meal reception with drinks included, linens, etc.. The Cabo Dreams charged per hour for the sound system...but the PV Dreams is a flat rate. You will definitely need to check with your coordinator about the prices at the Cancun Dreams. They are all so different in $$ for some reason.

You have the hair and make-up people say "Listen I'm here for Kate's wedding and if you mess with me there are going to be serious problems b/c Kate is a lawyer and you don't want to F@#$ with her. So get out of my way or I will hurt you." I think that should be enough. smile120.gif

Jilly...do you know that if you have 5 rooms or more booked, you get the Wedding in paradise package for free? That way you don't have to worry about staying longer than you really want at Dreams. That's what we are doing. We just didn't need a lot of what was offered in the larger packages and we are going to have ~80 ppl, so we went with the "free" one and customized it from there.
Susan - I just got my contract for the wedding and Claudia charged me $1000 for the dj for 4 hours (and the cocktail hour if it was going to be held in the same location as the reception). I wonder if it is the same company and she just automatically gave us the lowest package. Did you get a website from the company that you have the price quotes from?
Also...any of you girls have the prices for the lower level bouquets. I have prices for the VIP ones, but none for the others. I was wondering what the price difference is (VIP bouquets are no where near the $60-90 Claudia originally quoted)

I didn't know that about the 5 rooms, I might have to go through the packages and see what I really need, maybe this would be a less expensive route, thanks!

I wonder why the extra $200. Interesting. I did not get a website from the company, but there is an e-mail address and phone #. I sent out an e-mail yesterday with a few questions about song choice. I want to be able to send a list of songs to be played. I also wanted to know if the DJ was an MC, and if we could meet a few days ahead of time to go over a some details. I will let you know what I find out.
As for the flowers...I have pictures of the lower level bouquets, but not prices (I went with a package that includes the bouquet). I also have a price list for the VIP bouquets, but no pictures. Do you have pics of the VIPs? I wasn't thrilled with any of the basic bouquets. I have found a few examples of bouquets I love. I thought about getting a price quote from a local florist, and then sending a pic to Claudia to see what her quote is.

Random question....can someone explain how to put pictures right into a post?
Susan, I think the VIP bouquets are posted in a thread labeled "dreams cancun" where we have all the other stuff. If you can't find them let me know and I can email them to you. I really want orchids & roses, but I'm trying to not care so I don't have to pay more, lol, but I keep going back to this.

Also, to put a picture in, I usually upload it to photobucket and then there is a place to insert an image at the top of the message box, some pictures I can do it with, others I have trouble.

Good Question! I didn't even think of that, I think I'm just going to use the spa at the resort.

When I was there for my site visit, Maye came to meet me as did Juan Carlos. I didn't have to pay or do anything for them, they must have just told the guard gate that they were coming for a meeting. I'm sure you could clear your hair / make up people through Mariana.
Who are you using? I still can't decide myself!!!

I just put a deposit down for Suzanne Morel - the same person Christa used. I have read great things about her. Plus, they called me tonight and confirmed all the details of dates/what I wanted, etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
