Riu Brides, Question about menu's/menu cards...

Recommended Posts

I was just thinking about table placecards when I had a thought about menu's & menu card's.

I don't recall anyone mentioning this but what were the menu's like at your reception? Was there a menu at each person's seat? Was it their standard restaurant menu that they hand out everyday or was it a specially decorated menu for weddings?

I totally didn't give menu cards too much thought & its not really important, but the placecards got me thinking.

Also, as everyone has a choice as to what their entree is, once ordered, about how long did it take for the entree to arrive? And, did everyone's entree arrive at the same time?

SIGH....Sooo many questions!!! So sorry!smile41.gif

We had paid for a special menu, so they printed menus for us- they didnt say anything about it being our wedding menu- otherwise it is whatever menu the resterant usually has

We were in the plantation resterant as it has 2 levels it is better if you are not paying for a private reception becouse you are more secluded, we did pay for a private reception so the service was outstanding, there was some delay for everyone to get thier food, but in jamacia this seems to be the norm.

i found mammee bay way to un private to have my reception there, we ate there the 2nd night at the resort and there was another large table with kids running around and screaming- i decided then i was going to pay for a private reception

I also am having the private reception at plantation...couple questions.
1. Were you upstairs or downstairs and was there enough room for you?
2. I just went with the standard menu which is a chicken dish, beef dish, & 2 seafood dishes. I am changing the soup though. Is this what you did?
3. Did you say it's better if you do or don't pay for the private reception? I didn't understand what you meant?
4. Also, did you have rent the Dj? If so, was there a lot of room to dance, etc...

Sorry so many questions.... it's so close though!

Great topic!! I asked Chandlyn about this issue already and here is what she said. Her response is in red.

Menu-

What menu’s and food choices are available? Kindly see the attached menus for both restaurants.

What types of beverages are included (beer, wine, etc.)?

With dinner is served red and white wine , sodas, juices and beer.

Will our guests need to decide beforehand which meal they would like, or can they make their selections at dinnertime? The selection can be made during dinner from the menu.

Since I would like to include our monogram on the menu’s, please let me know what food options are available so I can print those out and make the menus myself.

I'm sorry, thats what I was really asking in terms of the menu-not the type of food served, but the look of the actual menu. Do they use some kind of custom printed menu for a wedding or do they hand out a standard looking menu such as the menu that they use everyday?

I had my reception at the Mammee Bay. THey did make it semi private by putting us in the corner and then not placing people near us. and since everytime we went there there was not alot of ppl eating there. The menus we got were the same menus we received when we weren't a wedding party. They were not specialy printed or anything. Our orders actually did not take as long as when we ate their as a regular guest. They might of sped it up b/c we were a wedding. But we ate our salad and soup and fruit bar while waiting so it was fine. Oh, there were no place settings. They did have a number on the tables. I thought of stealing it but didn't. Haha. Hope that helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
