I think they are great! STDs are usually not that formal anyway. She'll probably gets tons of phonecalls from people who just want to tell her how much they love them & then she'll realize she was wrong. People love unique invites. The traditional ones get so boring.

Please do not pay your FMIL ANY attention! Those are great! The time & effort you put into those alone definitely make them even better. They are nice & personal which is also a great touch!

Like Yari asked is she old school? Maybe she expected something more "traditional". But since you're having a DW those are perfect.

Those are amazing! They are so cute... I would be so excited to get those in the mail. Your guests will love them!

Plus as others mentioned... STDs are generally more informal. Do you have any thoughts/plans for your actual invites? If they are a bit more formal... maybe your FI could mention that to the parents and it might not be such a big deal.

You guys are the bestest!!! I think I'll send you all the STDs and tell FMIL to stay home.

Thanks for the positive feedback (and the money you're saving me by not having to go to group therapy)!! I really needed it today!

Wow, those look like they took a lot of planning and hard work... and they are PERFECT for a DW! Seriously, I wish I had that kind of patience (and skill, hehe) to come up with something so creative. Be proud of what you did and nicely remind her that what's "proper" for a NY wedding isnt the same as a DW... FMIL and I have had that conversation atleast a gazzilion times!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
