ROR - how to best hand out my guest's favours...?

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!

I have been struggling with this one for a while... I have little gift bags for my guests that will contain a travel mug, aloe vera gel, SPF chapstick, paper fan, travel shampoo, and a fun straw. Our guests are split into two main travel groups, one coming from Eastern Canada and arriving at the resort in the afternoon, and the flight we will be on from Western Canada wont arrive at the resort until late evening on the same day Saturday. I wont have the bags put together yet, will do that when we arrive. I am trying to figure out the best way to get everyone their gifts? I want everyone to enjoy the mugs fairly soon!

I am now thinking maybe I can get a big reservation at the buffet restaurant for breakfast the next day, let everyone know beforehand about the plan, and give out the gift bags then? Do you think that will work? I am thinking around 10 AM. I am not sure if the tour companies do any sort of orientation or anything that will interfere, does anyone have advice? Thanks!!!

hi!

i think i'm going to give my OOT bags out at the welcome cocktail hour at sea grape. you could definitely do it at breakfast.

as an alternative, i heard another bride say that she is giving her oot bags out right before everyone leaves for the trip - that they are either mailing or dropping off the bags at the guests' houses as sort of a departure gift/get ready for jamaica present. i like this idea, and may do it - it would totally cut down on my luggage!

We have guests flying in on various days -- some even a few days before we even get there.

So, I am mailing out luggage tags and a little "Welcome Booklet" ahead of time.

We are having very informal, non-private cocktail "welcome" receptions each night at the Lobby Bar, probably about 7pm. Each night, any newcomers can stop by to grab their OOT bag ... and hopefully some guests who are already at the resort will show back up to meet those who just arrived.

This will, of course, be optional, but I'm going to put in the Welcome Letter that we hope everyone will at least stop by so they can pick up their welcome gifts and find out more specifics about the wedding.

Anyone who doesn't pick theirs up (b/c the wedding day itinerary will e in it) I suppose we will leave at the front desk and ask that they be called to pick it up.

I'm sure you would be fine at a buffet breakfast. The tour companies that do do (haha not referring to s*) orientation do it over by the stage that is deserted during the day. I would just put a bunch of tables together and do it. The waiters will always help you do that. THey did for us a few times.

Lizz, what are you printing on your vistaprint postcard. I'm toying with this idea also, but i'm not sure of what i should say.

Pouchie, where are you having your welcome mixer?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
