Wedding date advice please.

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I could use some advice. Just as a quick note, I have to re-plan my wedding.

We've decided to get marry just the two of us in Cabo and have a reception in Los Angeles later.

We decided we wanted to be married on 09/01/08. The photographer we REALLY want to work with is only available in 10/08.

Here's my question:

Should I move our date to October? I'm worried about the weather in Cabo.

or

An alternative is to keep our date use another photog and fly back down for a trash the dress session with the photog we want to work with.

Keep in mind I am in the planning stages so nothing is definite yet except my fi.

TIA,

Marguerite

Have you considered getting married during the week? Maybe the photographer you want to hire has a week day open. IMO if you love the photographer, and if it's just the two of you, I would work around his/her open dates. Unless of course the date you picked holds meaning to the both of you.

Thanks everyone. I will talk to my fi and see how he feels about it. The date doesn't have too much meaning. We wanted a date we could remember and would be good timing to travel on our anniversaries.

I will talk to to both Las Ventanas and One and Only Palmilla. We're down to picking those two locations.

i have to echo angela -- sept 1 is smackdab in the middle of the hurricane season in cabo, so the liklihood that you'd be totally rain-free is pretty low. october is a much safter bet for clear weather.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
