Just so I can be prepare ahead of time.....for those of you who have gotten married at EDR (or for those of you who are just "in the know"), should I expect any type of hidden or surprise fees that are outside of things that I've booked?

the only charges I have come across are for the photographer. I was also very disappointed to learn that champagne is not included in the "international open bar" for the cocktail reception or private dinner event. This completely bugs me b/c you can order at any bar in the resort but they claim that for the events it requires extra "service."

Be prepared if you plan on ordering bottles of wine or champagne. The prices are outrageous. There is one bottle of red wine on the list that we drink frequently at home for $9. We typically pay around $36 in a restaurant. EDR wants $80 a bottle!smile43.gif

Hopefully I won't run into any hidden charges when we are down there next week.

See you at the pool Shea!! smile159.gif

Hey Bre- so you can get glasses of champagne at the bars on the resort- but not served at the private events?!
so wine by the glass is included in the all-inclusive package- just not by bottle- or is wine not included in guests' AI package at all??!
Lordy Bre-- yours came so fast!!! know you and Shea both are super excited!! YAH!! cheer2.gif

We arrive Monday afternoon... and are staying in the Casitas... I juts looked at the weather report on weather.com. Bre, it is not looking good for us! It pretty much says rain all week!

We get there on Tuesday and are also staying in a casita. I just checked accuweather and tuesday-thursday are cloudy with thunder showers. I feel (and Hope!) that those are passing showers.

But our wedding day is some sun and clouds, light winds, Real feel- 87 (kind hot but way better than rain!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
