Oh, and I don't plan on calling people that don't RSVP. I'm just going to assume they're not coming. I don't have that much free time to track people down because they're inconsiderate. It's not my problem. We're all adults here.
I've been going back and forth on whether or not to contact people who haven't bothered to respond. I do have some friends who I thought would go -- but haven;t booked and we could really use some people to take over some/all of the 5 rooms with people who had to cancel b/c of either money, health or whatever.

Well, in that case, I would suggest you call those people who have not RSVP'd yet. But it's still sooooooo annoying.

Brendan and I have had this conversation before. I know I'm the most organized person in our group of friends. In fact, I'm OVERLY organized. And I need to realize that not everyone is like me. I'm the type of person who knows whether or not I'm going to a wedding BEFORE I even get the invitation. So as soon as I get it, I send back the RSVP the next day. That's just the way I am. So it REALLY bothers me when I've given people 4 MONTHS to book their rooms and they haven't. I need to calm down, I feel my face getting all red.

i had to hand-hold a few people through the process of making travel arrangements. so annoying considering i included step by step info as well. some people are just annoyingly lazy/clueless when it comes to this stuff! sorry you have to deal with it so close to your wedding.

I totally hear you Jen! I'm so sorry that people SUCK! I leave for Jamaica in 7 days and we have just been informed that a few no shows may "crash" our wedding! Ridiculous! I don't understand people at all... months to plan for something and they leave everything to the last minute!

I feel like today there are lots of threads that capture the same exact frustrations I had in the 3 months preceding our wedding! Sorry you are dealing with this Jen.

But, bottom line, people are just not following the program, for whatever reason, and it just sucks huh? Nothing you can do short of hassling the hell out of them morning, noon & night until they book. Better, you just gotta let them be the adults that they are & let 'em figure it out :)

Stupid people!

Not to hijack, but yeah... they haven't booked yet, but supposedly they wanted to 'surprise' us by showing. Who does that? Do you actually expect us to have food and cake and everything for you? Not to mention I won't have OOT bags for them if we find out 2 days before we leave... we aren't sure whether to tell them they just aren't invited anymore or what...

Again - sorry to hijack.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
