Hi Vanessa:

Thank you for so much detail! It makes me want to go RIGHT NOW!

If you dont mind, I have two questions for you:

1. What about the Westin did you not like?

2. You said the sun went down very fast, about what time would say? I was told that in May the sun doesnt set unil about 8:30pm.

Cant wait to see the rest of your pics!

Best,

Natalie

HI wink.gif

* Westin. My Bachlorette Party was held there at 8:45 pm. When we got there, we went to the pool area. There was no one at the front desk. No people in the lobby. It was so quiet. We went to the pool area. Maybe 6 people there. When we left we saw a couple w/ their 2 kids. That was it. It was dark and gloomy feeling. The drinks were expensive and the overall impression for me was not the happy uplifting Mexico I know and love. One of the couples who came to the wedding did stay at the hotel which is why we were there, she gave me the Pre-Party there. They wanted quiet and great rooms. They enjoyed their 2nd type honeymoon there. They read and laid out by the pool. What we were looking for was movement in the hotel we choose, lots going on for the guests who had traveling so far. We stayed at the Riu Jalisco and although there were things I would have loved to change about some issues there, for the most part it had all we looked for. We were there in Jan which is one of the busiest times in Mexico due to their NYears celebrations. All the areas we moved around in were full of things going on around you. At the Westin that wasnt the case. In a get away where you want to have alone time I might consider it as its one of the largest most elegant hotel chains but for what we needed and wanted I was really glad we choose another. So my comment: Quiet, Expensive, Nothing to Brag About

** 2 stars on my scale of 5

Please know another bride might have a different opinion but that was view on the Westin. And to be fair to the Westin. I do stay at their locations in the U.S when I travel. Sorry so long in reply. Our photographer was Jason Pardo he does not have a website. He's out of Dallas. Congratulations to all of you coming down the sandy aisle of Las Caletas :)

Vanessa, I just got done looking at your wedding pictures - absolutely beautiful bride, wedding - everything! Thank you so much for sharing. Every picture I can see of LC gets me more excited for my wedding in October. Can never have enough pics of LC!

We were in PV in April and had our site visit and couldn't be happier with our choice of location for our wedding. We stayed right down the road from the Westin at the Marriott - where we've stayed several times before when visiting and it's always been busy. As we've noted on this last trip, it's in need of updating but it's well maintained. The one afternoon we sat in the lobby (very breezy spot - perfect for people watching) and watched the floor being thoroughly waxed. Given we were waiting for our taxi to the airport and nothing else to do, but they maintain everything there. Fortunately they'll be doing a renovation starting any day now.

Again, thank you for the pics and Congratulations!

Thank you all for your sweet comments on the wedding. A question I was asked was about the bridesmaid dresses. Nordstrom's online. We loved them. They were breezy and all the women looks gorgeous in all sizes. They danced looked gorgeous and partied like rock stars wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
