People's gripes about a destination

Recommended Posts

It's truly amazing, though, people's willingness to assume that their opinion is of the utmost importance. I actually had someone I work with tell me that going away to get married would look bad. Um... whatever. God bless my parents who were all "anything you want, anywhere you want... just tell us where to be, when to be there, and what to wear." If only everyone was so accomodating...

It's YOUR wedding, it's YOUR day. Do it exactly where you want, in exactly the way you want. These are memories for YOU. If someone wants to gripe about it, cut them off quick and tell them that you'll be sad if they can't make it, but you'll understand.

you are DEF not alone. FI's family is incredibly supportive and excited - AND they're footing the bill! whereas my family is a buncha chumps (at least on my mom's side - only one aunt and her husband and kid are coming, and my mom has 3 sibs). even my dad who is supportive of the wedding being in cabo said to me a few weeks ago, "dont you think youre being a little selfish" when i was complaining that my mom's family wasnt coming and gave me some BS reason. I was like uh, ok dad, its MY wedding, and we're doing what we want. if people wanna join us, thats great. if not, tough luck, we dont wanna hear any bitching!

i know it sucks and it hurts and is stressful, but keep your chin up, the people who really love you will be there on your special day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
