Ceremony wording, vows, etc

Recommended Posts

I havent seen much about ceremony wording, blessings etc so I thought I'd start a new thread. My wedding planner just sent me options for my ceremony and one thing she included is a hand blessing. I think its AWESOME and so meaningful, here it is if anyone wants to use it:

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch

nevermind, i found it: UNITY SAND CEREMONY

After the minister reads the statement below, pour two containers of sand into a third, wide- mouthed, container simultaneously:

_______________ and ______________, today you join your separate lives together. The two separate bottles of sand symbolize your separate lives, separate families and separate sets of friends. They represent all that you are and all that youâ€ll ever be as an individual. They also represent your lives before today. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.

I read the sand cermony one but not the hands one, very pretty.

I'm not doing music during the ceremony, for one main reason I think since were getting married on the beach that it would be hard for people to hear us over the music and waves hitting the shore. So the beach sound will be our music :-)

As a gift, my mom brought a bottle and colored sand (I think there were 5 colors). Throughout the days leading up to the wedding, she had everybody take a scoop of colored sand and pour it into the bottle. Then, for her toast, her speech was about the blending of our friends and family in support of our marriage and she presented it to us.

It was really nice of her to incorporate the whole group.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
