ok karina is TOTALLY awesome - i just asked her about 10 mins ago if she had any kind of map of the grounds that i could put in my welcome packet for my guests so they dont get lost around the resort and she replied right away with this great map that is even numbered with the locations in english! i am going to ask her for a spanish one too. i am attaching the full size jpg file inside a word doc in addition to posting the image from photobucket in case anyone else wants to use it!

we're working on correcting our BEOs this week and i was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the bar on consumption versus the open bar where you pay one fee per person and they can drink however much.

we went through our guest list and figured that only about half our guests are really drinkers, that everyone else might just have 1-4 drinks total....so my MIL wants to do by consumption, but i cant help but feel like we're going to get screwed. she's paying for it, so i want to do it whatever way is going to be cheaper.... barrie and steph what did you two do? what is everyone else doing?

we are doing open bar but the cheaper open bar - I forget the price sorry. It includes bottled water, daiquiris and beer. I think that's it..maybe one more thing. We are then paying for wine bottles during dinner. but I think for you Maura the by consumption is better and you will end up saving some $'s.

BEO is like the final bills that have the list of every little detail of your wedding that you have to sign and pay your 80% before the wedding - i think youre right it will probably end up saving us money to do it on consumption, i just hope some of jose's drunky friends dont drink too much and end up costing us more!

LOL that's what I was worried about so we decided to go with the cheaper all you can drink but with limited drinks. It was much cheaper and we don't have to worry. We will be going back to the riu at 11pm so they can drink all they want when we get back.

How often did you get to see your BEO. I haven't seen one form Westin yet :S

you only get to see your BEO at the very end, you wont see one until like 4 weeks before the wedding and they will send you a first draft, and then you make corrections and then they send you a new one to sign and pay.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
