To the ladies getting married in the Riviera

Recommended Posts

1) What resort are you getting married at? The Royal in Playa del Carmen

2) What made you decide those? It is right in Playa which is awesome for guests. If the Royal is too expensive for guests, they can stay at the sister hotel across the street. We stayed at both and like both resorts.

3) When is your wedding? December 2008. (Just waiting on the final reply on the exact date.)

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? It is really difficult to decide. We picked this resort because we had stayed there and like the resort and loved the location. So far, the wedding coordinator has been good.

Congrats! & happy planning!!

1) What resort are you getting married at? El Dorado Royal

2) What made you decide those? The travel agent at destinationweddings.com suggested it after I gave her everything I was looking for in a resort (beach type, location, AI, price, etc.)

3) When is your wedding? July 24, 08

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? Yes, we did research for months. Because I won't be able to do a site visit, I have second thoughts almost every day because of the unknown. I went to a friends DW two years ago in Playa del Carmen and her advice to me is to just relax and let go of control when you get there. She was trying to make everything perfect and micro manage the whole thing and realized she wasn't having as much fun as the rest of us. Once she let happen whatever was going to happen (ie let things happen on Mexico time), she had a blast. Good luck!

1) What resort are you getting married at? Dreams Tulum

2) What made you decide those? Reading about reivews of how beautiful the beach at the Tulum ruins is.

3) When is your wedding? May 17, 2008

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? At first I read about the bautiful beach and I fell in love with that area. I was willing to do a more affordable resort but FI insisted we not compromise too much. It was hard choosing between affordability and quality. Definetly read reviews and ask questions but remember there will always be those who don' like anything, so use your best judgement when considering the opinions of others.

Good luck and happy planning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
