We registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and Kohl's... I was surprised at how frustrating it was too - we've lived together for 3 years, and really we just want cash towards new furniture and carpet... we've got the new little stuff, but all the expensive items are hand-me-downs! Any suggestions on how to 'register' for furniture?! We don't want them to think we want any one person to buy a couch or something, but more like a 'hint' that we are saving up for that stuff, know what I mean?

  • 2 months later...

Amazon.com (great because it pulls items from a variety of sites so you can have it in one place...it pulls some items from Macys as an example).

Target - I mainly picked it because I wanted one option for folks who will want to go to a physical store...like guests who are not into buying online. After reading the news about returns...I am worried about keeping this one.

and for honeymoon....

Cloud9living.com (things to do in Vegas)

and

libertytravelregistry.com (things to do in Hawaii)

like some other have noted what we really need is a new bed besides the old beds we have both had since college but wasn't sire how to go about getting furniture and I didn't like any of the beds on the PotteryBarn and other typical sites.

Last night I actually decided to keep a few things on the Target registry and just hope I have nothing to return. I moved most of the Target items to Myregistry.com instead. As an idea others may be interested in, I used Myregistry.com to add travel guides for my honeymoon location, the popular A New Earth audiobook for us to listen to during travel which I hope will inspire us in how we move forward in our life together and also a couple of guidebooks to making marriage work from Barnes & Noble. I think these make for some nice low cost but useful items for the registry. If anyone is going to Disneyworld or Orlando, Myregistry.com has items from DWTickets so you can get tickets to shows and entrance fees to parks.

I also added a cash fund option on Myregistry.com for the new marital bed that we definitely need as we both have old college/grad school years beds.

i ended up having to do a small registry at BBB, for my shower. my aunties thought it was weird that we weren't "really" registered anywhere. it pisses me off that people get mad at us for us not wanting anything! it's like they automatically assume that means we want cash. i'm not an idiot, of course i'd like both gifts and cash, but really i just want people to celebrate with us! why get mad at me for trying to save them some time and money!

I know this post is old but.... Macy's lets you register for furniture and so does Crate and Barrel. In fact I just registered for a kitchen table...lol! But we also asked for gift certificates from the furniture store that we've bought most of our furniture from.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
