What does a guy wear for an August wedding?

Recommended Posts

I just bought my dress last weekend. It's a fairly traditional A-line style strapless dress. I had originally thought a suit coat would be nice for my FI to wear, but at the same time I don't want him to roast to death.....

I was wondering if anybody's getting married/or got married in the summer in Jamaica, and what their plans are for their FI and groomsmen?

I also think that a khaki color looks great, but what color do the bridesmaids wear?

Any input or suggestions would be very much appreciated, Thanks!!

he should wear a speedo and a fan that hangs around his neck.

kidding. your fi could wear anything linen - maybe a short sleeve button down and linen pants...you could get him a linen suit and wear the jacket for pics, but i do agree that he'll roast if he wears it the whole time.

i also think that khaki matches most colors, maybe khaki pants and a white shirt...or all white for your fi to make him stand out. your bms can wear almost anything as well...give the guys a boutinierre in whatever color the bms wear to match the bridal party.

we're getting married in july so i feel for you. fi is coming prepared with two outfits! he has a khaki suit and nice white linen shirt and a really great light orange tie (our color). that would be his ideal outfit. but if the weather is just unbearable he's going to lose the coat and tie. so i guess i'll be surprised!

We bought a khaki suit for Matt and all the same shirt (off white silk/blend) for the guys, but come wedding day (October in Cabo) he decided to ditch the suit jacket.. (93 degrees).. it was too hot.. everyone know he was the groom because he was the one kissing me! :)

TOO FUNNY! I vote this one!! LOL
But really, everyone's ideas are good - go with what you this he will feel comfortable in. I am worried about my FI's suit. He may end up in the pants and shirt, but no jacket. We are doing St Thomas in May - and he is not one for the heat.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
