Reasonable hotels?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced hotels in Vegas (preferably on the strip). DH & I are thinking of going for our 1st anniversary, but we don't have a ton of $$$ right now (because of me going to Mexico this month without him cheer2.gif hehehe) so we can't totally splurge as much as we'd like to :P

Or any recommendations for hotels period would be great, that way I know what to look for when we do go to book! Don't want to book something that looks decent and it end up being a dump! :P

honestly the stratosphere is super cheap, its on the north end of the strip and is not the greatest hotel but its decent. Anything on the north end will be more affordable.

Also my mom always stays at the Tuscany and loves it, she is really picky and she thinks its affordable. She said all the rooms are like mini-suites. Its right off Tropicana and is walking distance to some of the main casinos and is across the street from one of my favorite places to eat in Vegas, Cozymel's. Great Mexican food and if you go you have to order the table side guac, its so so yummy and worth the extra money.

I would second the recommendation to go on hotel site and search Vegas. You can usually get a package pretty cheap. Not sure what the cost is, but the Hard Rock was really nice. They have a shuttle to the strip, so it doesn't really matter that its a little off the strip. Last time I was there I stayed at Bally's, which was also nice. Paris (which is attached) was really beautiful. The Westin is definitely cheaper, but also smaller. What are you looking for? If you stay in any of the larger casinos the rooms should be nice...

We usually go to the Monte Carlo. It is so pretty. The place is so nice and the staff is really great. They have a chinese place that rocks. That is some of the best chinese food we have ever had. We go to Vegas a lot and find that if you go to the actual hotel website, you can sometimes get better deals. The luxor is also okay but it is at the south end of the strip. If you are looking for staying close to the strip, i would try to stay sorta in the middle. it is super fun to walk from casino to casino to see how beautiful they are. The bellagio rocks (tre expensive) and they have an awesome lobby that you have to check out. They do a flower display that changes frequently. But anyway, my point is depending on where you stay you might end up paying a taxi or walking a lot. I think that the stratosphere is a great deal but it is so far from everything.

oh, and you have to walk back down through at night to watch the fountain at the bellagio, A MUST

Look in the Toronto Star newspaper this weekend and see what deals they have for Vegas, which are air and hotel included. Don't necessarily pick the cheapest one, but one in the middle :)

I've stayed at the Imperial, Treasure Island and NewYork New York. Out of the three I liked NewYork because of the location, but it is in the opposite end to the Stratosphere.

How long will you be there?

Is Harrah's ok to stay at?

If I book now I can get flights, 2 nights in the Grand Canyon, 2 nights in old Vegas at the Golden Nugget and then 3 nights at Harrah's for $1300 taxes in. My parents liked the Golden Nugget so I have no problem staying there, and the hotel in the canyon is one they stayed at as well, it's just Harrah's I'm not sure about :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
