So, planning-wise, I just wanted to know if we were supposed to have things like the reception dinner and spa reservations booked by now, but I emailed a Riu wedding coordinator and all she said was don't worry about any of that till 1 month before...is it better to call them then? Should I be worried?
I heard Negril is awesome, I can't wait to hear all about it!

I booked my reception and spa appointments already. I am pretty sure most of us did. If you don't want to wait til 1 month before, tell the WC that you would feel better getting confirmation now. I was too nervous to wait til April to book stuff.

Sarah--

I am about 2 1/2 months from my wedding at Riu Negril and I have many of the bigger details already confirmed, I just felt more comfortable doing it ahead of time. But.....my travel agent said that the smaller details don't need to be decided and confirmed until just a few weeks before you go. You can decide a lot of stuff when you are there too. I wouldn't worry at all.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll get lots of great advice. I sure have!

One thing to keep in mind, and I tell myself this all the time, is that the resorts specialize in weddings--it's thier job. So, while it's a huge deal to us they know what they're doing.

Also, my travel agent said they are doing some major construction on the highways and it can take longer to get to OR than Negril from MoBay. (I hope that doesn't freak anyone out!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
