Hey Kash... I agree with Ann. Go try it on again, and try other dresses on. You have lost some weight since your last venture, so you never know... you may find a different dress that is less $$ and you love just as much. That is what happened to me. luckily I was able to exchange my dress one time (David's Bridal) and LOVED my second dress so much more.

I decided in the beginning that I did not want to drop a third of my budget on my gown that I would wear once. I just didn't even go into the salons. I didn't want to be tempted. A friend of mine dropped 4K on her dress and now two years later she said that when she thinks of the cash she dropped on her dress it makes her feel sick. But at the time she was so caught up in the moment. I remembered that story when I went dress shopping and it just reassured me that I didn't want to spend too much on my dress. BUT, if you go and try dresses on again and still, the scarlet is just THE ONE, then I say go for it. If you are going to have regrets about not getting it, then just do it. It is your wedding day and you only will have one. It is a gorgeous gown and I know you'll be able to sell it if you can part with it after...it's hard. You sort of get attached to your dress after the wedding.

All I'm saying is just think about it and be 100% sure. Have ou thought of buying the one off the rack? They will usually discount it.

I've asked to buy the sample but no one will sell it! Anyway after I wrote my post I was called David's Bridal and made a quick appointment and went in and tried on a few dresses. Nothing was fantastic but there were a couple that could be okay:

David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns S8551 All over beaded lace sheath gown

This one would look good if I could love like 10 more pounds. Right now my stomach and hips don't look thyat great in it.

David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns T8627 All over lace A-line, tea length gown

This one is alright - fit okay but might be a bit too informal

David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns T8792 Strapless organza A-line gown with ribbon details on waist and skirt trim.

This one I liked except I had those weird little bulges near my armpits which I hate. But this dress is pretty - sort of reminds me of that Priscilla of Boston dress everyone likes so much

David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns VW8893 Organza halter trumpet gown with ribbon trim on bodice and skirt.

This one was nice but it was hard to tell because the sample was a too big on me after it was clipped it wasn't lying flat and smooth like the picture.

Kash, I like the first one you posted the best. BUT with that said, I don't think any of these dresses are right for you, the reason I say it is because you would know it the second you put it on. I was in the same boat as you, I was like "this is cute, I guess I could wear something like this" but when I found my dress I knew without a question that it was it. I second guessed my decision because it was more money then I wanted to spend but once I talked to my FI about it I knew it was the one. Keep looking girl, I know the right one is yet to be "tried on"....

BUT how much fun are you having trying on dresses? I miss dress shopping..

Kash- I really like the first one you posted. But, I agree with what Tammy said- if you don't instantly love it, then it's not the one.

Too funny, I have to share...Last night I dreamed that I went to have one of my wedding dresses altered at a seamstress' shop in town. When I went there she had started carrying consignment bridal dresses and I asked if she had the ML Scarlet. She said she did and I was sooo excited. She said it was a size 10 and I thought of you, so I called you on my cell phone while she went to get it for me. omg, she brought the dress out and someone had dyed it pink and added red ruffles to it (!) and the train was ripped. I was so sad. Then I woke up.

Anyway, I just thought it was pretty crazy that now your dress shopping has invaded my dreams too... lol

OMG! You are TOO funny! That is so hilarious - what a good friend you are!

I think you guys may be right - everything is "fine" but nothign is great. I need to keep looking I guess. It's all, "I guess this could work" instead of "I love this."

I'm going to keep trying dresses on and if I can't find something I love I'm just going to buy the damn thing (and then sell it!). I'm still of course searching for it used online too.

Actually I have a "WANTED" add on Craigslist and eBay and this other girl emailed me and was like, "I am also looking for this dress in a size 2 - 6 so if you find one will you let me know and if I find one I'll let you know. I thought that was very cute. And also a good indication of it's resale value!

Hey Kash...

I tried those same last two! The last one was my contender with the dress I ended up with. I kept going back and fourth between the two.

I agree with the other girls...there was no enthusiasm in your e-mail...none of them are THE ONE. I will keep my eyes peeled for Your Scarlet....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
