Any other Riu brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Thanks Sarah, I just did the same. I never thought of doing it in the welcome letter. That's a great idea though b/c in the event the WC doesn't respond to me any time soon I can just send out the invites without the info on the welcome dinner and leave that for when we're down there. Are you doing anything special at the welcome dinner - like anything beyond making the reservation? I have absolutely no idea what, I'm just wondering if I should be doing anything other than planning a meal together. I'm still up in the air on OOT bags (the costs keep going up) but if I do then the welcome dinner would probably be a good time to give them to everyone. I was thinking of doing it the night of our first whole day at the resort - what about you?

Alright yet ANOTHER question (I never seem to run out) does anyone know anything about the dress codes in the Riu's restaurants? Online I've only found long pants for men, but I know other resorts require closed toe shoes for example

Alright, after this I'll try to cut back on the questions blush2.gif

Hey Shelly, most of the restaurants at Riu Los Cabos require long pants, no t-shirts and no sandles. As for the welcome dinner, no I am not really doing anything beyond making the reservation. I figure good food, drinks and compant is enough. I really dont want to spend any $ on this!

Hope this helps!

Sarah

lol I hope not b/c I got confirmation yesterday for my welcome dinner. They were actually really quick in responding! I contacted the WC via e-mail, within a couple hours she gave me the person's e-mail i needed to make the reservation at the resort (since I guess it's not really a wedding thing). I got confirmation from that person later in the day yesterday. Great improvement in response time!

I assume if there was a fee they would have let us know then right? Let's assume no extras!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
