But I'm sure that no matter where you decide to have your reception the location will be gorgeous!

I'm considering Dreams Tulum, I wonder if these sites would be similar to dreams Cancun since I can't find much info on Dreams Tulum (because it's brand new I imagine!).

        How did people decide!

And how does it work? Do you usually just work through the hotel, or do you work through a travel agent to get good charter flights and hotel packages for your guests?

        Thanks.

I looked into Dreams Tulum a little bit, but my travel agent mentioned that it was quite a ride from the airport. Some of my guests will only be coming for 3 nights and I didn't want them to spend a lot of their time in a cab or bus. But I'm sure if you email the wedding coordinator there they can send you pictures, that's what I did. I do have a travel agent to that is coordinating my travel and my group and helping with some of the wedding coordination as well.

Tammy(host) on this site is a TA and she is wonderful, a lot of people on this forum have or are currenly using her and have great things to say about her. I had already started my planning before I found this forum, otherwise I'd be using her too!

I have quite a few people coming quite far too, so that is important to think about, I read that it was not far from Cancun, but maybe that is still quite far. Thanks for the tip! Maybe the next step is to email host and to enlist her help!

I think, if I remember correctly that it's not that far from cancun, but I guess there is a lot of construction and that's why it takes awhile? I could be wrong and thinking of something else, but I did look into Tulum, because I too really didn't like the idea of cancun at first, because all I could think of was spring break, but it started to grow on me, and my wedding is in october, so not near spring break, dreams is a family resort, and from what I've heard from people that have been there it's beautiful. If I didn't have to worry about cost for my guests I would have gone somewhere else, but I had to take that into consideration too. Good luck making your decision, I think that was the most stressful part (so far), once I decided on the location things got easier. Let me know if I can help.

I talked to the Drams Cancun WC, Claudia. She told me I have an option of renting a wood dance floor for the beach for $400/ night. That's out of my budget so I am going barefoot and giving my guests flip flops as gifts just in case they don't feel comfy in the sand without shoes.
