EDR reception location help!

Recommended Posts

Shea was is very interesting here is that I am having my cocktail reception from 4-6pm at Gaviotas on the 19th... What is going on!?!?!? They had also told me that my rain location would be the covered pool area.

What time are you having your cocktail receptionhuh.gif?

I can't believe we'll be in Mexico in two weeks!!

so I freaked out and didn't read all the posts.

The Health Bar is on the way to the casita section, just across from the beach. I don't recall how well it would fit 40 people. Were you planning on having dancing? B/c I don't think it could accommodate dancing too.

As for someone's recommendation of Tucanes, I hope she doesn't offer you that one b/c that where our private dinner is from 6-10pm.

This is so stressful! Don't you feel like you have no leverage?? Here in the states you could threaten breach of contract but you can't do that down there and they know it. I'm so afraid that once we get down there they are going to change everything on us and there will be nothing we can do about it... smile35.gif

We are having the cocktail party from 8-10. And then planning on heading over the Guacamayas.... We are kind of doing things backwards. We are doing the free dinner at El Cocotal, and then the cocktail party.

We are planning on having music, but it is for only 2 hours. We might dance a little, but not too much.

Did you like the Health Bar? She mentioned the pool area next to it as well that we could use.

The coordinator that I've been working with, Monica, highly recommended Gaviotas for me for our private reception. We're also doing the free dinner reception at El Cocotal and then just having drinks and dancing (and probably the cake) at Gaviotas (for 2 hours) after our dinner. I haven't heard of the Health Bar as an option, but from what I heard about Gaviotas, that sounded nice.

The Health Bar is an exception for me because of the goof up with my original location. She stressed that it was a one time thing.

The only reason I am considering it over Gaviotas is the pool at the Health Bar. I have already purchased the floating candles for the pool....

Aaahhh....that makes sense......well hopefully whichever location you choose will turn out to be perfect - it should be! All brides that I've heard from that have gotten married at EDR are always very happy w/ the final results! I can't believe both you and Bre will be getting married there in a few weeks! Good Luck - I just know it will be great!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
