Great thread! Glad it got revived. There are quite a few beauty secrets I've gotta try, especially the milk bath and Tammy's(host) eyelash thickner.

Here are my tips:

-Cetaphil Cleanser( Generic store brand) - it is so gentle, but sometimes I mix in some sugar granuals and use it like a scrub then let it dry on for a bit like a mask.

-Lately I've been using olive oil on my face before using the above cleanser and scrub and also on other dry areas before my shower like knees, elbows and toes. Just be careful while in the shower or bath, don't do so much that it gets slippery.

-Here's one along the lines of using Preparation H for undereye puffiness: I use Monistat Anti-Chaffing Powder Gel on my face after my lotion to keep the oilyness at bay, it works like a makeup primer, even though I don't wear make-up, it works. A little goes a long way.

Ever since I started doing this my face isn't as oily and I don't break out as bad as I used to, even using the olive oil, very little shine.

i HAVE to try these! i have horribly dry skin in the winter and when i moisturize every day i get really oily face and have to lay off the moisturizer for a few days.

here's a few things i couldnt get through life without:
for when my skin is so dry it burns --- one whole cup of plain ol' quaker oats oatmeal in the bathtub of hot water. soak for 15-30 mins or until very pruny, then exfoliate with a warm washcloth in the shower. to avoid getting oatmeal down the drain, get one of those drain strainers that goes over the drain. after the shower, lotion up if you still need to, but the oatmeal soothes and moisturizes.

shu uemura eyelash curler. its like $25 and comes with two rubber strips, and you cannot buy extra rubber strips BUT this is the best eyelash curler ive ever owned in my life. my sister introduced me to it and now both my FMIL and FSIL use them too based on my recommendation!

I will look into this eyelash curler!

I have been using ReviaLash, based on recommendations from my hair stylist and others at her salon. It says that it takes 90-days to see maximum results.

I have been using it for just over 30 days and I can see visibly longer lashes. I don't see any change in volume yet, but I'm guessing that will happen when I get closer to the 90-day mark.

In any case, the length is a HUGE difference already -- but I definitely need an eyelash curler to add to the definition!

I'm impressed with RevitaLash so far though!

can anyone recommend a good concealer or foundation? Right now I'm using bareminerals but sometimes it's a little flacky. I need something really light..anyone use clinique skin products? I've been using them for about a year. They're just ok..I may try philosophy..what's your opinion?

I love BareMinerals as well ... but my favorite concealer is the MAC Select Cover-Up. I also use the MAC Studio Fix foundation. It's a packed powder that you apply with a brush like you would the BareMinerals.

Carmex is great on dry spots like elbows, and my nose when I'm sick and have to blow it too much.

Also (this is kinda gross but) I play soccer and my thighs get all sweaty so I use a soft solid anti-perspirant between them and it works wonders.

Oh no, I was wanting to see some before and after pics of Jan Marini lash treatment and I found this article about it being recalled by the FDA.

US Recall News: FDA Seizes Two Million Age Intervention Eyelash

I guess there will be no full lush lashes for me sad.gif Not without extentions at least. I'd rather not risk it since I already don't have the best vision.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
