Oh - I do love pedicures though - that's my guilty pleasure. Playing soccer does bad things to my feet - so I like to keep them in tip-top shape!
hehe- I feel like you Ann. Although, I have to say that this wedding has totally increased the amount of pampering and attention to beauty!

One thing I didn't think of earlier is that I am a religious Crest Whitestrips user. I know it's not much of a secret, but they work great for me. I also avoid cola and coffee to keep my teeth white. People comment on my teeth all the time, even patients who are perfect strangers. I think I have gotten about 10 nurses at work using them now...I should be getting a commission from Crest! I have used them for probably 5 years, once every 6 months or so and my teeth always look really white.

OK, I don't know if these are "secrets", maybe more like tactics!

1. I use Proactive Solution for my face - I wish I would have started it sooner!

2. I ALWAYS wear sunscreen - ALWAYS.

3. I have hyperpigmentation from bc pills, so I use a prescription creme occasionally called Tri-Luma, it works very well.

4. Makeup: I love Colorscience mineral makeup! It's similar to Edyta's Jane Iredale makeup. It really diffuses any imperfections & it feels like nothing on your face. It's also another layer of sun protection.

5. Favorite wake-me-up eye brightener: Benefit Eye Bright. It's a pink creamy pencil that you use under your eyes, in the corners, or anywhere you have shadows. It really wakes your eyes up...good stuff.

6. I always drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. I start when I get out of bed in the morning - I hear a cold glass of water in the am is supposed to be good for you metabolism.

OK, I don't have many tips but here's what I have:

1. Wrinkle cream. I don't have wrinkles yet but I'd like to avoid getting them rather than having to deal with them later. So every night before I go to bed I use an eye cream and then an all over heavier nightcream.

2. Yoga. I love it. I stopped about 6 months ago because I was having knee surgery but I plan on starting again (my old yoga teacher stopped offering classes so i need to find a new one). It is so good for you in so many ways: Clear mind, better posture, stronger mucles and therefore bones, increased flexibility... just writing about it makes me want to go find another class right now! I feel nervous though because I haven't done it since my surgery and I don't know how my knee is going to respond.

3. Neutrogena Face Wash - unscented. I have been using this cleanser for so many years - it is gentle but effective. I can't stand perfumes so the unscented version is my favorite.

4. Eyeliner. Don't leave home without it wink.gif

5. Never brushing my hair. Seriously. I have curly hair and if I even bring a brush near it it becomes super frizzxy and awful - even before showering. So I basically never brush my hair unless I've just straightened it and even then it makes it frizzy!

This thread is an oldie but a goodie!

1. Cocoa Butter - I never go to sleep without greasing up, I swear by it for a soft and blemish-free face (the body oil is great for just after shower too)

2. Silk Therapy (biosilk) - All I need on an island (besides tweezers..lol) makes my hair feel and smell fabulous, plus it works on skin too

3. Seaplasma - detangles hair, moisturizes & is refreshing to spray on your face when you feel drab (or dry)

4. Lipbalm - Avon dew kiss is my favorite, I'm never without a balm of some sort

5. Oil of Olay - been using their facial products for years, the foam wash, daily facial cloths, and daily serum are my favorites

I just have to say ditto to that! I wish I could brush my hair like Marsha Brady, but it's just never worked :o(

hmmm, good thread to bump, Jamie

I use Philosophy Cleansers and products for my face: Purity to cleanse, takes off all your makeup and cleanses great. Hope in a jar after that (exfioliating moisturizer) , Hope in a tube eye cream. I never, ever, ever got to bed with makeup on.

I use MAC Studio Fix lotion with SPF on my face as a base for my makeup.

I take flax oil vitamins and drink lots of water to keep my skin smooth.

I'm not a huge makeup person - never foundation, rarely a bit of powder... But there are two things that I've found recently that I refuse to live without:

1. Semi-permanent lipstick. I am a huge fan of Cover Girl's Outlast - $8 a tube, put it on in the morning and when it dries you can kiss your honey to your hearts content and its still there.

2. Lancome's Cils Booster - sort of a primer for your mascara. Your eyelashes get stronger and your mascara stays on forever! And I just use a cheapy Max Factor mascara - no need to buy the pricey stuff to make the combo work.

Hhhmmm....

Great thread!

I just started using Revitalash to thicken my eyelashes for the wedding. It's supposed to take about 2 months so we'll see how it works (my hair stylist recommended I try ti as opposed to the extensions). if it doesn't work I might try Tammy (host's) Jan Marini Eyelash Thickener.

MAC or Bare Minerals foundation.

Whitening Trays from the dentist. My teeth have always been white (despite not having qut smoking yet) and the whitening trays just give them that extra sparkle. I love it!).

That's all for now -- wish I did more...

My beauty secrets aren't very glamorous ... but work

Face - I use good old noxzema for a cleanser. Then, I use rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball, and finish with a good moisturizer. Like I said, not glamorous, but works excellently for me and is cheap.

Skin (body) - when I shave my legs, I use Apricot Scrub instead of shaving cream. You go through razors more often, but the shave is so close, and my legs feel so soft afterwards. Also, I swear by Eucerin body lotion. My skin can get a little dry in the winter, and this product is great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
