Well, sort of DIY if you live in Philly... There is a store called Beadworks on 2nd, just south of South St. where you can make your own jewelry! They sell all of the beads in the store (and online Beads, Gemstones, Lampwork Glass, Pearls by Beadworks), but the really great part is that they will essentially make it for you in the store! You pick out the beads, make the design, thread them, and then they attach all of the clasps and do the hard part! Truthfully, most of what the girl did I could've done if I had the tools, but for $4 in labor, why buy the tools! I just looked at their online catalog, and they carry all of the swarovski crystals and tons of beautiful beads! They even have precious gemstone beads :)

It's hard to take good pics because they are crystal, but I love the way my stuff came out! It looks just like the really expensive sets from online, but about 1/3 of the cost :)

It really was a lot of fun and I'm psyched about how it came out! They have about a billion different types of beads, so whatever you are looking for you can find. And the girls in the shop were SUPER helpful. I didn't choose the most affordable beads, but considering I was looking at a few hundred dollars in jewelry, I was really happy with the cost. This place is a real find!

My grandmother (who is very fashionable for a grandma) makes her own beaded jewelry. She even makes the actual glass beads too! I got a necklace from her at xmas and I love it sooo much. I could get into this type of thing, making my own jewelry. Just need to find a local store.

It looks great Jenn! I can't wait to see your bridal outfit, gown, accessories and all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
