I cannot believe it...

Recommended Posts

Here it is, January 1st and we leave 2 weeks from tomorrow for Maggie's wedding! Where did all the time go?? I thought I had everything on my end pretty much under control but then there were a lot of little changes...we aren't using the logo ( the one Heidi and Robin so kindly helped me with), changes in colors for a theme, etc. You all know what I mean! So now, I need to get in fast mode. Then, on top of Christmas and RETAIL!, I got some really sad news 2 nights ago. I don't know if I ever told you ladies about my dad. He died 2 years ago Thanksgiving at 90 years old. When he was 85 he got a letter from his high school sweetheart. They spent the last 5 years of his life as if there had been no lapse in time. They were so cute!! The week of Thanksgiving Buzz and I had lunch with Virginia. She likes to honor the anniversary of his death. We knew she had plans with her own children for Christmas so we planned to get together again after the holidays. Saturday night when I came home from work Buzz handed me the newspaper. As you have already guessed, Virginia was in the obituary. She had died on Christmas day. No one called us to let us know and the obit only ran for the day before the funeral. I am so sad. She was one of the most beautiful people I have ever known. The world has lost true lady!

So, lots has been happening and not a whole lot of it is wedding stuff. So somebody kick me in the arse! I need to get this crap done, and fast!

As for the wedding stuff, I hear ya! We leave for Jamaica the 15th, my work schedule is jammed for the next 2 weeks, and I still have about a million little things to do! Yesterday we were food shopping and FI was like, "is it too early to buy travel toothbrushes and stuff?" Um, hello? We are running out of time! It is not too early for anything - lol! Everything will get done and I'm sure Maggie's wedding will be beautiful :)

LIzzy I'm sorry to hear the news on Virginia. That's a really touching story about them being high school sweethearts though. I'm a sap when it comes to things like that.

So 2 more weeks and you're off to Mexico?! Party time!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
