Tammy's right, this is a quiet little island at night. Almost all the resorts have their own disco and there are a few casinos (although nothing like casinos here in the US). There's really nothing outside the resorts in the evening to do or see. But with a fun group of people you'll definately still have a blast.

It's the almost total opposite of Cancun.

There are a few places you can check out...

The Mascara Bar (it's small though so 100+ people probably won't work out!)

www.mascarabar.com

Disco Mangu (it's inside one of the hotels [i forget which one - sorry!] but you have to pay something like $45/pp to get in if you're not a guest of the hotel...it's a pretty decent spot though! we had fun there..I'm pretty sure though that you can get packages where it includes a taxi and entrance to the club for less than $45)

Hot Spot Bavaro will hook you up for a large party. I've emailed them. Romy and Manu welcome you to Hot Spot, the hottest Cocktail Bar in a natural cave in Bavaro / Punta Cana / Dominican Republic

And Jellyfish will stay open for large parties too. Jellyfish restaurant Bavaro Punta Cana Dominican Republic

FH has friends in Puerto Rico who go to Punta Cana to party and they evidently know of some other plcaes too.

I second Mangu. That place was awesome but I don't remember paying the cover charge. We went with the "entertainment staff" from our Hotel (Carabella) so maybe they had an arrangement. We probably left at 3am and there were tons of people just arriving even though it was already packed inside. In fact, a soccer team from Barcelona was arriving as we were leaving. I would definitiely recommend the place. It is located in the Occidental Grand Punta Cana.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
