Hilarious!!!

We were in Cabo for a friend's DW a couple years ago. We were flying from Boston, so we were a little bedraggled when we arrived at the Westin Hacienda del Mar. The "activities" coordinator sat us down. I was already sorta onto her, but my FI was like, "Cool! Maybe they'll tell us about fishing". They proceeded to spiel us to a quick death - before I knew it, he had put down a $30 deposit to go on one of their timeshare tours that came with a free dinner. My FI was SERIOUSLY like, "hey, cool, FREE dinner". He wasn't hearing my pleading eyes.

When we finally got away, I explained to him that they were timeshare hawkers. He was so upset that we were duped - luckily he turned right around and got our money back.

They're cute sometimes, aren't they!

last time we went to disney we actually did one of the time share things...they paid us each $100 to listen to their schpeal (sp?)...we had an awesome time - we totally made everything up...when they asked what fi did, he said he just opened an ebay store...we told them that we rent an apt (we own a house)...every time the guy asked a question we responded with some incredible lie.

yeah! we each got $100 in cash, plus they had snacks out, and we got a cab ride from the airport to the hotel where they were doing this, and a cab ride back to our hotel. my parents have gotten the timeshare vacation things in the mail, where they go away for a whole weekend and only have to spend an hr with the timeshare people...my dad goes in, says "i'm not interested, you can talk for an hour if you want, but i'm not changing my mind" and they get a free weekend out of it!

my mom did one of these too & got a free snorkeling trip. She said it was great. She enjoyed going to look at the timeshare too.

Omg we totally did a timeshare presentation in Vegas. We lied to qualify because we had time to kill and the prizes were good...lol It lasted about 3 hours from pick up to drop off, and our "salesman" was cool but we gave him enough no's to where he turned us over to the head shark who gave us the "only for you, I shouldn't do this" pricing. She got progressively aggressive. Finally FI told her to get out her wallet if she wanted us to have it so bad, and she turned downright hostile, but we got our gifts.

$80 in free slot play, a $40 dining voucher, and a voucher for a 3 night hotel stay (which we never used). So get this, the slot play voucher was traded in for the gaming card, which we put in, played a few spins, and cashed the card out for like $75 in cash. We then used our voucher for beer and pizza...it was awesome and we went home with that cash :P

You get your gifts but they work you with all the angles they can!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
