Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

The wedding is Monday, November 5th. We're having our guests stay at Dreams from Saturday-Tuesday (with those guests staying longer that don't need to rush back to work). We'll be at the resort until Saturday :) As for planning... We have an idea of what we want but we haven't really made any final decisions yet... This site will probbaly be really helpful.

Our planning is going great, we don't have too much left to do...

The biggest thing that we haven't done yet is decide on the ceremony. The lady who will be performing the ceremony hasn't contacted us yet, but Nicole gave me her email and said if I wanted to contact her first I probably could to get the ball rolling...I think I will do that.

Everything is coming together. We've decided that my bridesmaids and I and my mom, my dad and my aunt (who is doing my hair) (7 of us in total) will be going to Caletas the morning of the wedding to relax and get ready. I am still trying to figure out a way that we can get from our hotel, which is 45 mins away from Nuevo Vallarta, to the marina in Nuevo Vallarta by 8:00am the morning of...it's been a bit of a challenge...my next step is to contact our tour operator and see if they are able to help me figure something else out. I am a bit of an organizational freak and I want to have all of this set up and ready to go before we leave so we don't have to stress about it once we arrive.

I think we are going for our site inspection on the Monday the 12th - then we're going to spend the evening in PV - I'm really looking forward to that. I've almost got everything together for my OOT bags, and the favours and program fans are all finished and ready to go! I am going to take pics of everything as I pack it and hopefully I will be able to post them before I leave...(if I can figure out how to post pics! I haven't quite figured it out yet!)

Whew, sorry for the long post, there is probably so much more, but there's a bit of an update for now! I guess I'd better get back to work and quit my weddingdreaming!!!

Instead of renting a car for the day there are companies that rent vans. They come pick you up from the hotel with a cooler filled with beverages and you can rent it by the hour I think. This may be the way to go. If you rent a car you may not use it as much. And if you have seen how crazy they drive there I really wouldnt reccommend it.

Yeah, I don't think we'll rent a car - it would be way too scary and stressful driving there!

Do you know the names of the companies that rent vans to pick people up? I wonder if I can arrange that before we go...? There are 7 of us, so we will definitely require a van, and that would be absolutely perfect for us!

We are staying at the Decameron Los Cocos in Rincon de Guayabitos, 1 hr north of Puerto Vallarta. This will be my 6th trip to PV, but first time staying outside of the city!

I'm baaaaack!!!!!! The wedding was AWESOME!!! So many guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been too. They said it was like a celebrity wedding. The setting is just so goregous at night, you barely even need extra decorations. The fire dancers were totally worth it, people loved them. The bridal suite is so nice, definitelty go out there early so you can get a massage and enjoy just hanging out there. Me and three of my girlfriends took the 9 am boat out there. Umm...what else.... I have thousands of pics to post, I have to go through them but I will post several that will show you guys the setting etc. The food was AWESOME!! I actually stuffed my face at my own wedding and everyone LOVED the food and the cake!!! My mind is scattered, ask me questions and I will be happy to answer!

Welcome back!! I am so glad to hear that everything went well - I can't wait to hear all about it! Most of my questions are really about decor, and what you did or didn't do, and how it all looked - I just can't get a good picture. I am so excited for you!!!

We're debating a cake as well, but I think the buffet comes with dessert - you did both?

I just want to hear about everything and see all of the pictures! lol

ok, ok, so sorry for the delay. I have been sick, jet lag and thousands of picks on dozens of memory cards, too many to sort out!

First off, Yes, we gave Nicole $100 at the end of the night. Not sure if this was enough but we didnt plan ahead and it was all we had with us at the end of the night. Yes, I used Roberto Aceves for photography and he gave me the prints and cds before we even left Mexico!! I wasnt impressed with the quality though, some pics were very blury and some prints had a line going down the middle of them. I noticed it more than anyone else of course but I was slightly dissappointed with them. Maybe pics at night are very hard to get clear? Roberto was so fun to work with though and he really loves what he does! I'll post some and you guys can let me know what you think of the quality. I keep trying to upload pics for you guys and its saying invalid file so I think I will upload to Kodak and then post a link for you all....Stay tuned....

Marisa - sorry to hear you've been sick - that's no fun! I am sure coming home to this cold weather couldn't have helped.

And that's really too bad to hear about your photos, but hopefully there are plenty that you're happy with. I wonder if there's anythiing you can do about the clarity or line down the middle - maybe some photogs or photography experts can chime in?

That's great that you were able to get them so fast though, and I can't wait to see! I think a link would be great - then you don't have to load them all twice.

So how did it all go - what was your favorite part? Your least favorite? What would you do again, and what would you do differently?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
