Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am new here. I have been to Caletas before on previous trips to PV. It is a beautiful place and a weding there would be perfect. I am having troubles with selecting a photographer though. We really want to do the evening ceremony because Caletas and the cruise is so beautiful at night. I am worried about the quality though. Who are you guys using. So far I have looked at: Interphoto 2000, Carlos Melnik, Fotografo en Puerto Vallarta / Fotografia para Bodas y Eventos en Puerto Vallarta /Photographer in Puerto Vallarta / Weddings and Events Photography Puerto Vallarta Mexico Fotografos de Bodas en Puerto vallarta,

Franco Gonzalez, Photographer in Puerto Vallarta | Weddings and Events Photography Puerto Vallarta Mexico and have been impressed. Any other suggestions? Thanks :)

I chose to fly a photographer in from the US for my wedding at Las Caletas - her name is Leigh Miller, and she's also on this forum occasionally. I've heard of many great photographers over the last handful of months that I've been planning, but unfortunately I don't think any are local to PV. Check this thread out for some ideas ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2177

Also, one of the photographers who is also on this site is have a contest ... you could try this too ... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2157

We are just using the photographer that Vallarta Adventures uses, we figured that they do the weddings there all the time, they should know what they are doing!

I'm hoping the photos our guests will take will turn out good as well.

Our photo package comes with 25 prints and 100 negatives on CD - it is the smallest package, but we are also doing a video, so we will have that as well!

Will I go to the island earlier in the day to get ready and is there a place on the boat to hang my dress?

You may go out on the morning boat that takes the Caletas Day tour out. The boat typically departs from Vallarta around 9am and arrives in Caletas around 10:30. If you decide to do this, you and 3 other of your ladies are invited to come out free of charge. With this option, you ladies will be able to enjoy the beach, the open bar (!!), full lunch buffet and optional spa services. You will also have full acces to our newly remodeled bridal suite all day - which includes a full vanity, double shower, lounge area, queen size bed and is located footsteps from our hilltop spa. This is a great way to start your day and it gives you plenty of time to get ready before the ceremony and before your guests arrive. There is a place to hang your dress on the boat, as well as in the suite.

Hi Marisa;

I dont' have any pictures of the actual buffet, but it is the same menu they have on the Rhythms of the Night tour - which we went on in February 2005, and it was very good. There is lots to choose from and something for everyone!

I'm not sure if they print up menu cards or not - hmm another thing to think about! I may end up printing up a menu card to have at each table - just with the different options....I'm going to add that to my list!

You are also allowed to bring more than 3 people out early, you just pay per person. I have 6 bridesmaids, I believe it is another $70-80 pp to bring the extra people.

For us, it is worth the $$ to have all my ladies there all day to do some spa treatments and help me get ready!! (one of them is a make-up artist, woo hoo!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
