Yeah it was a tough call for us because a straight aisle is the only logical way to me. It wasn't horrible the way we had it, but it made the walk a lot longer! But we wanted us and our guests to face water. We were literally within feet of the waves and all we saw when we faced Brad was water. Can't have the cake and eat it too I guess!!

Now about that vow renewal....if anyone still wants to do the group renewal I'm down! LOL We were just talking about how we can always visit LC when we're in PV but we can't stay all day and all night unless we rent it out again. We've all been spoiled, it's not the same sharing the place with the tour group anymore :o)

yea - the day of the wedding Nicole asked me which way i wanted the whole thing facing, either straight and lined up with the stairs or like Jamy had it. its definitely something you can decide last minute - i did it just a couple hours before the ceremony.

alright...ladies who have already had their LC weddings? these questions are for you!

did anyone out there have around 80 guests?

if so, your guests were split between the upper and lower terraces during dinner, correct?

how did you choose to setup the tables? how many people per table? did you have a special way that you had the tables organized?

anyone out there take advantage of the very inexpensive spa services when they were at LC before the wedding?

is the dancefloor just the thatch squares which were previously the aisle? is there anything underneath them, like a hard surface?

who had the dj? =)

i know, lots of questions...we're busy bees right now and quite excited. =)

We had nowhere near 80 guests but I can help you with a few of your questions. My bridesmaids and I did have spa services the day of the wedding. It is very inexpensive and I highly recommend it. I had the 1 hour aromatherapy massage which was awesome.

Dancefloor is an elevated platform type thing, I guess made of wood? It is a hard surface though. We did not hire the DJ, but they did end up doing some DJ work anyway (for free).

if so, your guests were split between the upper and lower terraces during dinner, correct? i think they will need to be split ... i was close to needing that w/only 55. i have attached my seating chart. Nicole, Paul, and I went over the seating chart on the phone a day or so before we left for Mexico. she also sent me other examples of larger party seating charts. if i can find them i will attach them!

how did you choose to setup the tables? how many people per table? did you have a special way that you had the tables organized? there can be varied sized tables depending on how you wnat to set it up. we had more big tables at first (~8 people) but one thing she had me change was to break a couple of those into 2 tables of 4. like for a table of 8, she really needs 3 tables - 3 people on the sides, then 2 on the ends. but 2 tables of 4 really only need 2 tables, with 1 person at each edge. make sense?

anyone out there take advantage of the very inexpensive spa services when they were at LC before the wedding? i would have if i felt better - the spa is right next to the bridal suite - it's perfect! we did use their bathrooms and showers to get ready in, but none of the services.

is the dancefloor just the thatch squares which were previously the aisle? is there anything underneath them, like a hard surface? there is a wood platform below the thatched mats - those mats do slide all over though, and people stumble off the edge. can be dangerous or entertaining, depending on your viewpoint!

who had the dj? =) we used the DJ - he did a good job. we (read: Paul) made a few CDs of some music we like - he played a combo of those and some of his own stuff. other than the first 3 songs, we didn't specify anything. he did a good job reading the crowd.

i know, lots of questions...we're busy bees right now and quite excited. =)

(it's making me type something here)

ann, you typed so much and so quickly! i'm impressed!

thanks for sending over your seating chart. we're trying to figure out how we're going to get everyone seated, who we're going to put on each level, etc. as it stands right now, we're looking at having in between 80-85 guests, not including brooke and myself at the head table. from what nicole told us, 50 people is usually the common number for guests on the top terrace. we were thinking of having our head table along with six tables of eight on the top terrace, with three tables of six and two tables of eight on the lower terrace. how we're going to split people up? i have absolutely no clue!

we were planning on having a choreographed dance for our first dance but, after realizing that the dance floor actually had the thatch squares, we realized that it wasn't going to be the smartest idea. do you think that they can remove the thatch things on the dancefloor so it's just the wood? hmmm...

*laughing* we just want to be able to dance like crazy!

if you, by any chance, happen to stumble across the seating charts for larger parties, i'd love to see it. =)

or you can directly email it, if you'd like... brookeandgen@gmail.com

There were no thatch mats on our dancefloor, it was never really discussed so I'm not sure why it turned out that way. At the site visit Nicole did ask if we would be dancing and I said our group was the dancing kind, so maybe she did away with them because she knew we would dance a lot? Our dancefloor was covered in that roll-out fake grass kind of stuff (I wonder if that's what was under Ann's mats?) It didn't budge at all so if you still want to do a routine, ask for something like that :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
