Las Caletas Brides ~ Post HERE! (THREAD CLOSED)

Recommended Posts

Marla, I'm thinking I'm going to use silk petals for sure on the runner since I doubt it would matter on the ground. I am leary of using fake ones on the table though. Tossing that idea back and forth in my mind.

I'm wondering how many rose petals I would need to cover the runner. I've heard it is alot more than you would think. Does anyone have an idea?

Also, my FH thinks that they may fly away. Is that a real possibility?

Okay, so you girls think that the silk petals won't be an issue with the people cleaning afterwards or possibly not being environmentally friendly? I can just ask Nicole or Kelley and get their thoughts. I would also like to know how many bags I'd need to buy. How long is that darn runner? Again, maybe ask Nicole or Kelley.

Natalie, When you say you doubt it would matter on the ground, do you mean that people wouldn't be able to tell they were fake? What is making you go back and forth in your mind about the table petals? Is it that you think it might look too fake and real ones might look prettier? That's what I was wondering anyway.

I totally didn't think about them blowing away!! Very good question.

I wouldn't use fake ones on the ground at Las Caletas. I mean I would if they allowed it, but I doubt they would allow them to be due to being scattered all over the beach. However, this would be a good question to pose to Nicole. By the way, when does she return. I have a few questions I have been saving to ask her.

You can order a sample from that link I provided, I think. By the time dinner comes around, I think it will be dark enough to have a nice ambiance to not really notice. To me, I won't really care. But that's not a priority to me. I just want some color on the table for the aesthetic appeal.

Ok, I just checked. You can order a bag of a 100 petals for $3.99 and that includes shipping. Check them out!

Also, I searched for the forum where I found the link... here it is http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...d-flowers.html

Apparently, most girls bought the freeze dried petals. Not the silk. Oops.

Oh well, I'm still doing silk. I have enough hassle when flying there. Carting my dress through the airport is going to be chore enough! Let alone explaining documents for rose petals!

What kind of centerpieces? Centerpieces with flowers? or centerpieces with flowers and then just flowers on their own?

Oops, I wasn't clear. Some LC brides like Ann used floral centerpieces that Nicole arranged. I don't think I would want both centerpieces AND the petals so how in the world do I choose? Freeze dried petalshuh.gif I will have to check that out but if I went with silk, there are plenty of places around my home that sell those. I imagine they would all be similar if they are made out of silk.

Now, back to how many to purchase and if they are even allowed at LC AND if they would blow away and create litter all over the beach!!

I guess those freeze dried ones really do look real. That's what the brides say anyway. Also, someone got a ton of silk petals on ebay for $20. Not too bad!

Maybe they also have the freeze dried ones. You never know. There are some pretty crazy things there.

If you decide to go with petals over centerpieces, I would strongly suggest getting real petals. Honestly they are so eco-friendly at LC I don't think they would go for fake petals in case they scatter everywhere, like people said. They don't even allow you to flush toilet paper so the fake petals may be a problem.

The real ones really aren't expensive . . .I think they were $25 a bag. If you were indoors somewhere trying to simulate a tropical environment maybe fake ones would do, but since you're on a real beach in a real jungle why not use real flowers? Plus they smell nice. Just something to consider :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
