Hi Andi!

I love your reception set up- the pop of color is awesome! I had two quick questions about some of the items you posted:

1. Where did you find your lime green parasols?
2. Was it cold enough for your guests to use the pashminas? (I'm getting married in December & don't know if it gets 'cold' enough there at that time to justify the purchase to my FI).

Thanks!
Jessica

1. Where did you find your lime green parasols? I found them at Hobby Lobby - I had one pink, one orange and one green one...how many do you need? i actually left them there! and if you notice there were 2 orange ones at the end of the aisle on the ceremony set up....I *think* Nicole has a couple there. not sure though you should ask!
2. Was it cold enough for your guests to use the pashminas? (I'm getting married in December & don't know if it gets 'cold' enough there at that time to justify the purchase to my FI). honestly it was not cold in april! however the boat ride back got a bit chilly, just a bit....I too waivered on buying them thinking nobody would use them but then on the boat I saw one of my friends all bundled in it and she told me "i am so glad you thought of these...I would be freezing right now without it!" so that alone justified my purchase on that wink.gif Also I bought them in China town in NY on a trip there for like $3-4 each so really they weren't too bad on $$$. Hmmm I did my site visit in December, I am trying to remember, the weather was def. warm in the day but I think it did cool down just a bit at night.

Thanks!
Jessica
hope those answers help!

I was reading on a website that specializes in weddings there that you canâ€t actually legal get married there since it belongs to a different municipality. They stated that you would have to take care of that before you leave for Las Caletas…usually the morning of your ceremony. And then I read on another website that you can get legally married there. Which one is true? So can only have a ceremony with a minister? Iâ€m confused! Please help me!
so to get legally married in Mexico there are certain restrictions. like for example you have to be in the country for 3 business days before the wedding, you have to get a blood test done down there, umm i think there is more it but those are the big ones. So i think it is safe to say that MOST mexico brides legally get married in the states then go to mexico for the symbolic ceremony.

in regards to Caletas, again I think they can do the legal ceremony there but you should check with Nicole or Kelly. I think I remember nicole telling me something about it but I can't remember totally

I just got a reply from a WC regarding legal ceremonies at LC and this is what she said:

"Our ceremonies on Las Caletas are spiritual ceremonies, meaning, not legal ceremonies. Due to the logistics of Las Caletas, the judge who performs the civil ceremony (i.e. legal ceremony) will not go to Las Caletas, so if any of our clients require a legal ceremony, it is something that we do separate and in our offices in Nuevo Vallarta before the big ceremony on Las Caletas.

The good news is, is that our main offices are located in Nuevo Vallarta, in the state of Nayarit, and here we do not have the same, strict guidelines for civil ceremonies as Puerto Vallarta (Jalisco state). I can arrange for you and Adam to meet with the judge here at our main offices to do the civil ceremony the day before or even the morning of your spiritual wedding at Las Caletas. What is also good news is that the marriage and morality class is not required here, meaning that you will only need to be here 4-5 days in advance - just enough time to do your blood tests and get the results back."

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
